Default 56" Aeromarine Apache build

Getting started. Hull is currently at the paint shop. Painter was busy with some other stuff and said he should finish it end of this week by 5/20/2011.

In the beginning the Hull was white.

Arrow Shark / Mercury Marine Scale #6 drives. These things are over the top nice!

Today is the 21st.  The paint shop said they would be done yesterday Friday the 20th.  I was pretty busy with some things and did not call.  I hope I get it back this coming week.  The shop was behind because they had an engine swap going on in a car when I dropped the boat off.  The guy from Arrow shark is designing a tie bar for the drives and he also mentioned a gear box.  I am still thinking twin staggered setup.  This will be more work but I think it would be cool.

Other news, Stig did not make the cut to drive this Apache.  I have the Ware House Hobbies drivers and dash pieces.
Lots of other things to get.
Anyone have a transom template from their MHZ drives?  Arrow Shark does not have much.  I hate to guess.  Never done this type before.

Hold onto your A** when you see the price. I figured I would have the boat for a long time so I took the plunge on that one. The wife may not be very happy.

Its not the wife thats the problem....damn man with the shipping looks to be about $500 per drive. Now let's see....hull, custom paint, two modded zens, two pipes, two drives, hardware, electronics, props, etc... safe to say about $3500 later, you'll have a hell of a boat!! Idont know about you, but thats about 2 years worth of saving pennies for me. But sooo worth it!!! In the meantime i'll just enjoy looking at yours lol

You guys are going to be pretty disappointed with me. I have decided to sell everything. I sold my Checkmate last month and did not anticipate buying another boat. "real boat". Well I am about to buy a 35' Fountain and the Apache will never get attention. It is best that everything goes to a good home.

Buying a 35' Fountain this week. I hope if all goes ok. But I will be buying one soon. I was not sure when I would be buying again but it is happening sooner than later. Thought I would take a stab at finishing the Apache. The same thing happened years ago. I had a Enforcer Sport fromWarehouse Hobbies. I bought my first boat and the R/C boats just got put on the back burner. It is hard to walk away from. I have been doing it for almost 15 years now, on and off I guess. This is a hard decision but I cannot do it all. Ihave always wanted an Apache so this is hard to swallow.

Don't sell it you just got it and have not even run it yet ! It looks cool I like the blue flames .

I have a 24' Superboat and 10 R/C boats, 8 R/C planes, 2 R/C heli's a few R/C cars and trucks.

When I'm not playing with the real toys I play with the R/C toys.

I'm trying to buy a 1930's street rod that needs work from a friend !

You sell it and you will just buy another one SO KEEP IT !
