Davids rc sounds like you are well on your way. There are a lot of skilled airboat builders on this forum that can help you. Do you have pics so we can see what you are working with? You should meet up with DJLaPalme, he lives in your area.

What kind of RPMs are you getting at WOT with that prop? How much does the boat weigh RTR? Seems to me that might be too much pitch to get the RPMs high enough to get it moving.

if u only have 1.2 hp u have to much prop on there. slick bottom would help u run the hill better. but u have to get some more rpm . maybe bigger carb would help too. i have a 4.25 27cc motor and i run a 14x7 3 blade. my 50cc twin with 5 hp i run the 16x10

You can, but its a heck of a lot harder to balance a 3-blade than it is a 2-blade prop IMO. It still needs to be done, but if another prop can be found of the right size, I'd buy it vs. cutting a prop down. That is unless you can re-contour the end of the blade so the ends arent just blunt square ends. Square edges = far less efficient.

You can, but you have to balance it or it will vibrate and wear out your bearings and loosen up your bolts and screws. Dennis

ok well i think im just going to build a new hull and buy a new prop the problem is their is not many pushers to choose from especially in the 3 blade where can i obtain planes for the hull or is it better to just wing it

If you cut the prop down go no further than 1/2" on each blade from the tip.

i have a cut down reshaped and rebalanced 16x10 to a 14x10. if u want to try it,. before i would build a new hull i would get a different engine. thats not alot of power for a heavy motor
