airboat in progress
I am currently building a airboat and am having a little trouble, i have a 25cc 1.2 hp weedeater motor with a 16x10 3 blade pusher prop mounted on a carbonfiber hull 32x17x2.5 the boat will move ok on the concrete but will not budge on the grass n e ideas

Davids rc sounds like you are well on your way. There are a lot of skilled airboat builders on this forum that can help you. Do you have pics so we can see what you are working with? You should meet up with DJLaPalme, he lives in your area.

if u only have 1.2 hp u have to much prop on there. slick bottom would help u run the hill better. but u have to get some more rpm . maybe bigger carb would help too. i have a 4.25 27cc motor and i run a 14x7 3 blade. my 50cc twin with 5 hp i run the 16x10

it should move on the grass. my boat weighs 29.40 lbs. if you motor is 5 lbs and hull is 5 lbs . it should move. post a better pic when u get a chance. is the boat a flat bottom?

i would try other prop. and go from there. if all else fails u can buy a 27cc 3.25 hp cy motor off ebay for 150. that will make that thing fly

ok well i think im just going to build a new hull and buy a new prop the problem is their is not many pushers to choose from especially in the 3 blade where can i obtain planes for the hull or is it better to just wing it

i have a cut down reshaped and rebalanced 16x10 to a 14x10. if u want to try it,. before i would build a new hull i would get a different engine. thats not alot of power for a heavy motor
