Looks like a great show, wish I had heard about it sooner and I would have come up from Bedford to check it out!
That B-26 looks amazing, love the weathering detailing.
An RC airplane is a toy, but guess what, many of the planes we model after are also toys. Anything used for leisure can be considered a toy as it has no practicality or use beyond providing us enjoyment. Reno air races, toy airplanes. Can't wait to get my Tundra cub 'toy' someday :-)
Or that toy Ferrari. Get my point, huh huh??
All in fun guys, not trying to argue or offend anybody.
Congrats to the organizers, looks a worthy yearly event.

I cover a lot of events around the country every year and I have to say my hat is off to Terry Farmer and the group at the North Dallas club. They really put on a GREAT event. For a first year event it was definitely over the top. The facility was fantastic, the people were great, and that flying was top notch. You done good Terry!!!!! I'll be back next year to cover this event again!!!! For all those out there that fly warbirds, you need to pay attention to this event. It's going to be well worth the trip next year!!!

I am very proud of the job done by the crew at North Dallas R/C. They put in a ton of effort to make this event happen. Our crew manager Charles Shafer did a great job keeping the crews organized and on schedule. Ed Kettler (CD) did an excellent job with administrative organization and planning etc. Last but not least our event supporters were outstanding and I am grateful to have them backing us.
I would like to thank all of the pilots who came out to fly. Without you none of the above would matter. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a safe trip home.

Hi Barry,
I wish I knew you were going to be at our field. I was there Friday and Saturday, but I guess our paths didn't cross. The Corsair is gorgeous! I have a Top Flite GS Corsair that I built right after you bought the CompARF P-51 from me. Unfortunately, I lost her a week before WOTX. Did you ever get the P-51 in the air?
Nick

Terry, you guys did an excellent job organizing a great event! It was a pleasure to finally meet you in person. Us guys from north Louisiana will definately be back, and we'll probably have more people with us next time. It was great meeting other Texas flyers also. Overall, a superb weekend!
R/C Ken, it was good meeting you also. Great job on the pics!
Looking forward to next year's event.

Hey Guys. It was a great event! I was with the Lubbock boys that came down for the event and I'm sure glad we did. We'd like to make it an anual habit. Of course we host our own event every year on the first weekend of August. This year it's on the 5th -7th of August.....WEST TEXAS WARBIRDS at the Abernathy Aerodrome in Abernathy Texas. Check us out at www.wingsmas.org for further information. We have 1,700' of runway on the north end of the landing strip and it's 75' wide, no trees, just wide open sky. You'll be hard pressed to miss that runway. It's always good to "Get out of Dodge" so to speak and just have fun flying. So make arrangements to get away that weekend and let us host you. We've got great entertainment lined up for Saturday evenings Pilots Banquet. We've got a Jazz band and a lovely young lady Jazz singer that also happens to be called "The Jazz Singer." We also have Colonel Kenneth Hite speaking at the banquet. He retired in 1977 and flew F-86's and F-4s in North Korea. His older brother is still one of the surviving members who was also a co-pilot on one of the B-25's in the Doolittle Raid. We'd love to have as many of you as can make the trip to come join us. I'd love to pack out the dining hall for Colonel Hite. There sure aren't many like him around any more. Hope to see you there!

WOW!
Looks like I missed a good one......Congrats to Terry and all of the staff that obviously put on a first class event. Sorry to hear of Brian's misfortune in losing the F-86. Congrats to Brian and his very talented test pilot... in getting Flak Bait doin her thing.........I waited for three days in Ft Collins last year, to see that bugger go. I'm sure Brian felt like he had waited a life time....
FUN PICS KEN, Thanks, from those of us that didn't make it down from Colorado. Had a good time in Denver at another First Class event..........The two events need to separate next year for those of us who would love to, and WOULD ATTEND BOTH. See everybody in Ft. Collins....in September..

I personally want to thank Terry and his club for making me feel "at home" This was my first event in Texas and I had a great time. It was a pleasure meeting some new folks and customers of mine of which I never met before. Thanks to Brian for his trust in testing Flak Bait and putting her through some paces and Evan who got her flying for all of us to enjoy.... plus he carted my butt around quite comfortably in his beautiful RV!
As soon as I get things back in order after being away for so long I will post some photos and videos as well....
I Can't thank you all enough!

WE'LL BE THERE WITH BELLS AND WHISTLES...........AND MAYBE SOME WARBIRDS!!
May's a good month to travel to Texas from Colorado and get out of the spring winds we get up here.... We'll bring the Big Iron from Pueblo and a few fighter pilots.
