Bearings for OS on ebay
I need bearings for an older OS 46fx engine and there are some that cost what I paid for a good used engine.
Anybody try these on the auction site, or know of a good alternative.
Need front and back.

boca has nice bearings, too - I've bought from them before, but for most engines I have been using lower cost alternatives.

Boca also has a nice reference for engines / bearing sizes.

Boca Bearings or RC Bearings is the way to go.
The Ebay sellers tend to sell the low end bearings, quality is questionable. But these may be Ok in some cases, it depends on the situation though. Usually you will need to remove the shields from the bearings if your engine doesn't use them.

Be careful to buy the bearings from ebay due some sellers can not be honest to sell the worned/damaged bearing. Better to buy the bearings from Boca or other bearing dealer there you live..

G'day
I live in Australia so I either buy genuine parts or more often, I go to www.rc-bearings.com. Good quality, low prices.
Recently I needed some bearings for a very old Enya 46 four stroke. It is not listed on the rc-bearings site so I sent an email asking for info and received a quick response. The bearings are on the way now.

RE: Bearings for OS on ebay
As far as I know, RC Bearings is the only company offering the 6902 size bearing in stainless (balls & races) with the polymite retainer.(re-verification needed)
In my opinion, steel or stainless cages have no business in our RC engines.
Boca and others that I checked offered the stainless bearing in that size with stainless cages only. Polymite retainers/cages in that size can be found commonly in steel, steel ceramic hybrids and stainless ceramic hybrids, but not stainless alone, go figure!
The 6902 is the most common bearing used in RC planes, since it is the rear bearing for most two stroke 40 size case engines all the way up the the OS 55 AX, Webra 55 and the new Evolution 60NX hot rod. It is also very commonly used in bicycle wheels. I seems the ceramic craze and distributors want for reduced inventory has reduced stainless bearing variety.

I have used RC Bearings in the past with great satisfaction. Boca Bearings is probably good as well, but I will stick with what works for me until it doesn't work any more. RC Bearings
