Great Planes Extra 300S Gene Soucy - Elevator contorl throw
So I have the GP Extra 300S Gene Soucy ARF 99.9% done and just need to verify that the manual is indeed correct for such a small control throw on the Elevator. It recomends, 3/8" low rates and 1/2" High. 3D rates are only 3/4" on elevator. The other surface throws seem correct. Just want to make sure this one is too. I don't feel like taking off and not have a responsive elevator! Thanks for the help!

I happen to have my son's Soucy Extra here right now, since I am repairing it after damages incurred in a midair. I have his transmitter too, so I just measured the elevator throws. He has 2 1/4" UP and 1 3/4" DOWN with 70% Expo to soften it up at small stick deflections. He can hover this thing, and does the full aileron rolling circles with a little alpha in them. Not quite a good 3D machine due to the high weight and wing loading. Just my take on it. Jon

Hi,
I have this plane set up according to the manual. There is plenty of elevator, and it will not snap out of a loop if you pull back hard. I'm flying it with an OS 1.60 FX.
