Start with the strut 1/2" up from ride pads to stuff tube and you may need a little negative trim.

Post pics of your set up. Tell us about your prop.

ON a cat you want to start as high as possible. This way you can get the engine tuning right first. Once the motor is running right slowly start dropping the strut until the speed decreases or she starts porposing then lift it a bit higher than that point. that is the most I can say until you show some photos and CG's of the boat. Is the motor stock or modified what pipe are you running pipe length. All these factors ad to the setup. But rule of thumb is as I said above start high and work down. Dont worry if the motor revs a bit high on the high strut setting you are not doing a whole race at that revs just setting up. On the avenger we ran the center line of strut 1/2" above the bottom of the sponson. But that is a vague idea as my setup is not the same as what you have so. Show us more info

Make sure you use the "post reply' and not the quick reply, that got me the first couple of times. write your message, click on upload pics and search your files, once you find your file click on thumbnails and select a pic. hopes this helps a bit, I am pretty computer illiterate so my help is limited!!

you have 2 choices, don't use the Beta uploader, use the second one.
pics have to be less than 6000k (6Mb) and it also shows you what format they have to be.

RE: conquest cat hardware set up porposing and chine walking
Hi I have a avenger pro. Mine is set up with the strut about 3/8 of the prop below the bottom of the hull. (centre of drive shaft just above the bottom of the hull)
Also try the strut straight up and down as it looks like it's pointing up which will make it nose heavy. By pointing it down will raise the nose.
But as above you need to get the motor running right first. So you know what size prop to run.
Cheers brian

Take the negative out of your strut, your propeller is pointing downwards. This will push the transom up and the bow down in the water.
set the center line of the prop 3/8 to 5/8 above the bottom of the sponsons and neutral (no positive and no negative) than go from there.
you may end up with some positive in the end but not negative.
If I recall, we were not able to get the conquest running correctly with a wedge shape rudder, we had to switch to the conventional rudder.
also make sure that your strut is absolutely straight (when looking at it from behind) even just a small amount of left or right tilt will make the back wobble like crazy.
one more thing that is important for the conquest is the CG, where is your CG at?

Still waiting for that part of my question. Also is the strut exactly in the middle or offset? You were talking of chine walking. Is it chine walking or torque roll?

That strut looks like it has a lot of negative as does the rudder. I would move them both to a neutral position with the strut 1/2" up.

Judging by how far the pipe is sticking out the back I am guessing the motor is way to far back? Give us a same pictures of the inside.
