Default Need Lustrekote Blue Metallic Spray Paint

Topflight has discontinued making Lustrekote Blue Metallic Spray Paint. I really just need one can to finish my Stinger 120.
Anyone have a can they could sell me?

3D flyer, I will check my stock and see if I have any. Although, it may be a few years old if I do. If I have some, I will be happy to just GIVE it to you.

Dave- sounds like you have a nice project there that you have a lot of pride in.

I'll offer a suggestion- McHenry's paints in Frederick will custom match and put in a spray can automotive paint for you. I have used their paints this way on three planes and they turned out great- matched the covering perfectly. I have not done metallic but it's worth checking.

They can do single stage or two stage (base + clear coat). Single stage looks better than I have ever seen from Lusterkote and the two stage looks even better- professional with the nice glossy finish! I think they charged me like $15 for the paint, single or two stage. Clear coat is like another $18- but I think the difference in finish is night and day better than you'll get with Lusterkote.

Be sure to get one of their spray masks and be careful with the auto paint if you go that way.

Thanks Dave, I may go that route.

You should come out to Mavericks sometime and fly with us ... we would be happy to guest you.

Hope all is well.

3D flyer....D**n ...I am really sorry to take so long to get back to you. I was reading the post headers and saw this and remembered I was going to check. The blue spray paint that I have is Rustoleum so it would not come close. I must have either used mine or tossed it cause we moved a couple of years ago and it's not there anymore.

Check out duplicolor paint. I just bought a spray can of Duplicolor spray paint that matches Aluminum moneycote perfectly, I got it at Auto Zone Auto Parts store and it comes in a multitude of colors including metallics. The paint is Acrylic Lacquer and dries very quick, they just might have the metallic blue you are looking for. I am not sure about it being fuel proof though, some say that it is. I have not try it myself.

Hi Dave- I have stopped by the Maverick field a half dozen times or so but have never run into anybody- are there times when you guys typically get out? I get up to Frederick every now and then but usually during the week- mostly mondays.

We are trying to setup Thursday evenings and many guys come out during the week (during the day) as they are retired.
Also Saturday mornings are good times for the working guys. Aslo sometimes on Sunday afternoons.
