Hi, been following this thread as I am also considering yhis plane. My question is, is this the large or small version of the model and did the cost include shipping from the UK. thank you Steve

This is the large version, not the EP. No, that price did not include shipping from the UK. That was rather expensive itself around $250 US dollars. [] I really had to decide how bad I wanted the airplane, shipping alone would buy a kit in the US. I can't justify the purchase price other than I really love the plane!

Hei guys, I'm a fan of Black Horse models and this one is for sure in my wish list as is the Stuka as well. This one is a really nice example of the good things that BH is doing. Even retracts are included!!. Great.... saving money now to buy it for my birthday!!

I have 5 bh models the aerocommander & the stuka are both great looking planes. I also have the pitts, glasair 120 & the 90 size corsair all are very nice models. Go for the aerocommander you won't be disappointed.

Really nice plane!! I had the Bridi and really liked it. It was a hot flying plane, I can't believe they didn't include flaps on this ARF.. My Bridi didn't like to slow down even with the flaps. LOL . However it was one of my favorite planes of all times so I would seriously consider it if Hobby People brought them to the US. Please keep us updated on your progress.

I talked to Hobby People. I was told it was not in their inventory. They would not say if they planned on getting any in stock. I would think it would be a big seller if they brought it in. [&:] i really liked the looks of the plane that's why I went to the expense of ordering from Inwood Models. I hoping at the listed weight it won't be too hot to land.

I'm sure it would be a big seller. Seems like the Bridi kits have a great following. Here's an old pic of mine from 2004, I think this new ARF may have a better scale outline.

I had a pair of the old 50sx airplane versions. But I think any 46's would be fine.

Based on the manufacturers projected weight, I was planning on using two Magnum 46's. I think at 10 1/2lbs it should be more than enough power. We'll have to wait and see if their weight is accurate, won't be putting this one together for awhile, too many other projects on the boards!

Is there an electric version of this model. I have the TopNotch kit. However I would be interested in an ARF about that size. No foam model.

Yes there is an electric version of this model(not foam) Check out BH Models website. Inwood models had them in stock when I bought mine. Great service, quick shipping, but it was a little expensive to ship to the US [:'(]

I checked with Hobby People (Global Services) and they expect shipment of the EP version in mid October. I also checked the price in the UK and it was 220 pounds ($320). That is a bit high for my normal ARFs. I will wait to see what the Hobby People price will be. I have never paid much over $200 for any of my ARFs. Don't know if I will go much over $250 plus S&H for this model. If it is over $250, I will just build the kit from Top Notch.

Just spoke with the salesman at Hobby People and he confirmed that they will get them in mid October and the EP version will sell for $379.99. That is a little high for by pocket book so I will move on to building my Top Notch kit.

Electric is the only way to power this model.

If you add shipping to that it is almost $800.00 ask me how I know that! [:'(]

Hi Peter, very nice looking model!!. No, I am finishing my Cessna 337 first, before embarking on my next model which is this Commander. I had a "small" issue during the maiden flight of the 337..... it never took off!! I put 2 x OS 40 FS and it fell short on power. Now I am looking into different alternatives.... my daddy always said.... sonny, you need to read the instructions first!!

I believe for that price, that is the nitro powered plane with 80'' wings. It is a beautiful plane, well constructed and expertly covered. I have no regrets buying mine!
