I have to say this is one of the coolest planes ever. Ive flown 2 and 3ch planes for a while but never a 4ch. Im having a blast flying it around, i havent tried any 3d stuff yet, just getting used to it first.

Ok, Ive started having problems with my Gee Bee. Yesterday everything was fine but today i get 2 min of airtime and the motor looses power down to the point it cant fly anymore. My servos seem to still have plenty of power and the battery is charged. Im at a loss here.

Most likely you got a bad pack.
I recommend getting another pack and testing.

Did the pack expand or balloon at all?
That means it's ruined.
Read up on Lipo battery care.

There is a wire coming off the speed controller with a jumper on the end.
Make sure the jumper is still on the end.
I haven't confirmed this, but I've read it is a 2cell/3cell jumper.
Removing the jumper would change the voltage level for the power cutoff.

Make sure all the wires are clear of the motor.
If the speed controller is mounted too close to the motor the resulting slack will allow the wires to rub against the motor.
Besides the loss of power from the rubbing, the motor edge will cut through the wires.
Just move the speed controller back.

Inspect the motor.
Make sure the shaft is straight and the motor is spinning freely.
Motors lose power as they get hotter.

Hope this helps.

Garrett, my tensor runs a 3s640mah pack. I thought that pack was a bit much from the start. I'm happy that you are enjoying ailerons.

I have been out of the hobby for many years and bought the Gee Bee to get back in to it...

An awesome plane.... Had it for a couple months now... many flights and it is going strong...

I suggest rigging it for FULL control throw after the first few flights.... What a difference....

The wheels are too small for our Florida grass field, so I hand launch and usually tip over on landing but no big deal.. never even broke a prop....
I actually have ordered some larger narrow diameter wheels to try from Tower.... they may just work without the wheel pants.... I'll let you know...

I have 2 of the stock batteries... any suggestions for more Mah?

Fly Gee Bee!

I was just asking a friend on the field that has more experience about the batteries, I was concerned as I don't see a balancing charging plug, he told me that for a 2 cell battery is not that critical, so I'm really not worrying about that, I will order a couple of spare packs from parkflyers.

My maiden flight was pretty good, it's a big difference from all my past experience, I'm still getting used to the need control and speed, but I'm loving it!!!

Something I had to do was to reinforce the front tip of the plane were the motor is mounted, while I was testing my aerobird swift the wind from the propeller brought the gee-bee down and cracked the front of the plane were the motor is mounted.

I made 4 balsa covers, the same shape of the front of the plane and used some gorilla glue to set them in place, the balsa maker a sandwich of the foam.

Now is much stronger and I'm actually glad that I did, it makes the front of the plane really strong, also on the landing gear I used a tie rap to hold the to wirers together and it made it a lot stronger and no real added weight.

I'll try to post some pictures.

Please keep posted about your experiences.

does anyone know the center of gravity for the Gee Bee?
I ve had them in the past and did not like the electronics very well in the model, so I am just buying the parts now

Hi - I hope someone is watching this thread!! Does anyone know where I can get a replacement fuselage for this plane? Parkflyers.com lists parts, but no longer seems to include the fuse as a listed spare part. I have emailed them to ask, but if anyone else knows where there may be some I would be pleased to hear about it. (I believe they are actually made by Art-Tech.)

I appreciate any help you can give me...Chris

Hi - Does anyone know where parts (a fuse) or a complete plane might be available? I love this little GeeBee.

I found this website that says they have 20 planes in stock.
I have no idea if that's still true, but it's worth a shot.
