CA glue removal
I am thinking of using CA glue on a mini-bike tire where because it is not beading to my rim well in one very small spot.
We all use it on our RC cars and it seems to last forever.
How hard is it to remove CA glue?
Thanks -
Keith

RE: CA glue removal
How is it not beading? Is it an old metric tire on a standard wheel? If the bead is actually popping above the lip of the rim, then CA will not hold it. Or is it tubeless and there is just a leak? Because if that's the case, push the tire back and spray a nice THICK coating of Aquanet hairspray across the bead, then air it up to about 20psi while it dries. I wouldn't use CA, it would probably just end up cracking as soon as it dries.
As for removal, acetone works... but its difficult to get the acetone down to all the glue, which is what makes it hard to use when removing RC tires from wheels.

RE: CA glue removal
Thanks!
There was a bend in the cast aluminum rim. I took a metal plate and banged it back but there is still a smallest leak from it.

Oh, easy fix! Go to a hardware store and get a tube of Quicksteel metal putty and some 300-400 grit sandpaper. Sand the dented area on the rim, mix up a little ball of putty and smoosh into the dented area, let it cure, then sand it down flush with the rest of the rim. Use a sanding block, or wrap the sandpaper around a piece of wood. I used to do a lot of trail riding and this is a nice quick fix for a dented rim. If it still leaks, just add more. If the dent is inward, just smash it out further. You could also just run a tube, but make sure you sand off any burrs that may have been cast into the aluminum.
