Finally come up with an idea for the the main tank mounts that allows me to remove it when I need to.
images may appear a little dark, not sure why i had tons of light

I just made a ply mount that is shaped to the inlet that comes up to the turbine, two ply blocks on both sides with a bolt/ blind nut. I need to be able to remove the mount in front so I can get the side tanks out if needed

I will make nice video once the epoxy drys and I can remove all the clamps and such

Okay some paint work today and first experience with BVM ceramic paint.

I painted the cross beam black, painted the area of the tank that will be above the turbine with BVM ceramic paint and painted the UAT mount to match the front interior color.
I new the BVM paint would be thick, but never figured it would be tooth paste like LOL so I understand now why two coats is plenty

Okay back at it after a weekend away with the in-laws. I made a mount for the fuel valves and pumps which I mounted tonight and the video is uploading that shows the location and how I did it.

Sorry not sure why they turned out so dark

Finished the front equipment bay and sized up the cockpit as well. I had to trim out for the shaft from the air cylinder that opens and closes the canopy as well. I will finish the turbine bay which has all the turbine stuff like UAT, valves, ECU and battery as well as all the light controllers when I install them.

For the one person who is viewing the thread, (Wap) i have a small video uploading so stay tuned. Hey mi amigo did you ever get in touch with Lowell?
Hows that MIG coming? I am hoping to fly mine in the GA jets in September! That will be my first jet fly-in that I actually do more than walk around and ask question/take pictures you should come!

Here are a few pics of what i call the fuel bay, with the pump/valve tray installed and the UAT in the hand made cradle. the only fuel line going from the nose section is the main fuel/shut-off valve, starter fuel and the fill line.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has the FEJ EV5 air valve? my question is about adding the extra EV2 valve, the EV5 handles gear, doors, brakes, I need the EV2 to work my canopy open/close feature. Does EV5/EV2 combo allow for the canopy lock/unlock feature or will I need two EV2 valves? Does The FEJ EV5 even have two sockets to plug two EV2s in? It says socket 1 and socket two on there website but I dont have mine yet to verify. Thanks

I could not get my evu2 valve to control the canopy and lock.  I had to order another dual valve from fej to work the canopy.   I think i have a pic of them on my thread.

well the EV2 is a two way valve so it would only control one, either the lock/unlock or the canopy open/close which is why i am scratching my head. Lowell said to make everything work i only needed the EV5 and 1 EV2 which was all I bought.

I would think you would need a up3 valve and servo to control the canopy , canopy acting like gear and locking mechanism acting like doors .they have to be timed . I don't see how the multifunction valve and uv2. Will operate it and everything else . Just MHO

The FEJ EV5 valve controls gear, doors, and brakes. There are only two inputs from the receiver, namely retracts and brakes, so you couldn't control anything other than gear/brakes. Per the FEJ manual, sockets 1 & 2 drive additional valves or servos. The additional sockets are to control extra valves such as would be used for a large model needing a large capacity valves. In Mode 2, socket 1 has the same timing as the doors and socket 2 has the same timing as the gear.

However, since you've got an F-16, you'll be operating the valve in Mode 1 (doors stay open when gear is down) where socket 1 and 2 have the same timing as the gear. Assuming that the capacity of the EV5 is sufficient to operate your gear, you won't be needing to use socket 1 or socket 2.

To control the canopy, you will need two valves and a sequencer for the lock/unlock and open/close (assuming you don't want to frig with overcenter mechanisms to control both valves with a single servo other some other fancy transmitter mixing program to emulate a sequencer). These would be controlled by another channel on your transmitter and would not be connected to your EV5.

Regards,

Jim

I am going to use the 14mz to control the valves for the canopy.

Wap instead of using a sequencer for the canopy lock, I was going to put a delay between closing the canopy and the locking. This way flip one switch does both functions. Its funny when I got my 14 it let me get rid of so much extra crap in planes. No need for match boxes or programmers, servo reverse boxes stuff like that.

you could do the lock with a simple trigger button, no need for all the extra bells and whistles.

use the trigger button so when the canopy closes it triggers it and puts air on the locking mechanism. then when you select open, it removes air from the trigger valve and adds it to the opposite side of the lock and it unlocks........it never gets out of sequence and it's quite cheap to do.

I've used it on countless doors such as on the F-16 where they stay open when the gear is down, then let the gear trigger the doors to close........takes about 3 T fittings and the trigger valve, no servos, no sequencers............

ahhh okay got it, well with my radio its super easy to do the delay and I dont need anything extra. I guess once I get my air valves I will find out which route I will need to go.

side not mounted the ECU battery and ECU on the turbine bay section
