RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
ph - that's one sick lookin' car!
Have any of you put heatsinks on your motors? I just got my Integy & it's kind of odd. The heatsink itself is only about 1/2 the length of the motor & the fan hands over the edge not directly over the heatsink. I'm not sure what this is all about.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
just ordered this to go with it, my BEC is only 1.2a & im worried its not enuff for this servo & reciver
Dimensions: 45 x 27 x 10mm
Net Weight: 32g
Input Voltage: 4.8 - 20V
If input voltage is not higher than the selected output voltage, output voltage is equal to input voltage.
If input voltage is higher than the selected output voltage, output voltage is equal to the selected output voltage.
Output Voltage: 5V or 6V
Continuous Output Current: 5 Amps
Max Output Current: 7 Amps
Quiescent Current: 5mA
Cable Length: 110mm (Battery), 230mm (Receiver)
Features
1. Designed with an advanced switch mode DC-DC regulator IC, the max efficiency of the chip is 93%.
2. Large output current: a continuous output current up to 5A and burst output current up to 7A.
3. Electronic components are covered with a metal shield and a filter (ferrite ring) is attached to the output wires to significantly reduce the electromagnetic interference.
4. Output short-circuit protection function.
5. Input voltage range from 5v - 20v.
6. External switch to turn on or turn the output.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I'm having trouble w/ the electronics on my Slash. Anybody got a Traxxas Tx & Rx running with the HobbyWing 60A ESC? 1st I couldn't get reverse to work reliably. Then I reset my throttle range & now the motor runs WOT as soon as I turn the Rx on!

Sounds like the throttle range for shure, reset ur controller and start again. allso it might be worth re setting the ESC & changing the neutral range
might be worth unpluging the motor while u set the neutral range & go by the lights

Im so excited.... just ordered some red & white LED's
cant wait to fit them to the light bars. I even painted the inside of the light housing silver to make it look more realistic
hows my LHS charges $3.95 for a 15000mcd!!!!!!!!! just got 50 red 14000mcd & 50 white 18000mcd off ebay for $10. For that price i dont mind waiting.

Well here is a sneak peak, still not looking right but its getting there, ive still got lots to do.
im going to start on the roll cage this week by making it look more like the rear thing with pannels, mesh, dash, etc.
oh and i want to remove the traxxas TORC stickers and replace them with baja stickers. That was i can pretend traxxas entered there cars in the BAJA

ph - lookin' good!
Reseting both the ESC & Tx changed nothing. As soon as I touch the throttle it goes WOT. Reverse works sometimes but it goes WPT too.
Anybody got any ideas?? I'm stumped.

Cheerz m8, ive done more to my slash ill post pics later
what about plug the steering servo into where the ESC goes, that way u can test the radio gear & rule that out. if the steering servo is erratic then i would be looking more into the TX & RX
the servo should be in the middle & move with throttle & brake imputs

Got my new servo today YAY!!!!!
[:@] the dammm wires are to short so ive ordered a servo extension wires & a locking clip
I been securing the roll cage pannels with wire, now im changing to cable ties & ive poped a few stickers on the clear engine cover.
I can do much more on the body untill the sast few parts come, but soon i will be starting on the wiring
here is my plans
Ive ordered the spotlight led's and the tail led's, LM7805 voltage reg, 3mm red & black heat shrink, Corona BEC, & Full function brake/tail light controller.
Still need to get some wire and 2 2 RC Switch's, cant wait

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
well I finally got a 2wd slash and have been racing at a buddys barnyard track. Need some advice from you guys. Im running a castle 3800 with a 2cell lipo and currently 23/90 gearing. Not too happy with the speed or tourqe im getting now. What gearing should i be using? Im running against quite a few 4wds which is challenging to say the least. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

All it really involves is move the rear upper arms to the upper position on the shock tower *u need to cut a tiny bit of the tower for full suspension travel
set the rear camber to -3deg
fit around 70g worth of automotive wheel weights under the ESC, Im running the proline chassis saver with 60g weights.
And lastly do u know how to mod the diff to run oil? its easy all u need is oil, 2 o-rings & 2 shims.
these 4 changes make the rear heaps more controllable & highly improved straight line acceleration.
even with out the diff oil there is a very noticeable difference, give it a try, cant hurt & is easly put back.
Also from what ive been reading the stock brushed motor classes are generally pulling more laps than the brushless guys.
what class are u racing & what are the modification limits????
