Brushed is simply a waste of money if you are willing to spend $100 on a system that is sub par when you will eventually get brushless. My 27t brushed motor that i bought for $25 was the biggest waste of money because i wanted the combo i linked within a year which is why i find that my car is boring. My  budget is small so i cant throw away money so i think you should get the combo i listed because brushed is trash compared to brushless.

Why do you want brushed?

Maybe cuz he hasnt experienced the diiference. (maybe he has) Brushless is like boosting your car or feeding it the "bottle" lol
Once you go BL/Lipo youll never go back! Especially for bashing i mean come on we all want to go faster and faster! my 2 cents i have a buddy from work who Ive just introduced to the sport and when he got his hands on my BL slash he had one in a day. Its awesome passing the remote and watching guys faces just light up!

Generally for short course trucks you want a lower KV motor like a 3800 0r 4500 but if your after speed go higher and watch your temps and gear appropriately. Im no expert and im sure others will have a better explanation but generally most motors fit you just have to watch your temps and gear appropriately.

hell to the no, its little more than 1/3 the required power. the esc he linked will run warm with that motor but will work fine. it says onroad but its fine for offroad.

If your willing to pay $100 then there should be no problem getting what i listed. Also pick up a nice 2s lipo with the extra money if you want.

I've never heard a person say they would take brushed over brushless.

ThunderbirdJunkie prefers the throttle and braking feel of brushed vs brushless.

A Tekin G12CIII with a 12x4 feels better than a Tekin RS Pro with a 10.5, and the brakes on brushed motors/speedos are far better than brushless brakes.

And the 12x4 is faster in a 2w buggy.

depends on the use crawler, or something where speed does not do well I'd take a brushed any day.
