Which 3D plane do we recommend?
I have a .46 size plane, 30cc gas(funtana 90), and a 50cc gas(Edge 540). Next one up is in my opinion is a 75-80cc gas 3D plane. Would love to have a Dietrich performance 75cc Extra 260 but they don't make them anymore. Love the 3D stuff and I need my next challenge and build. Could anyone please give their suggestions and/or videos-pics if you have. Looking forward to hearing all suggestions.

Any of the modern aerobatic models from Extreme flight, Aeroworks, Pilot RC, EG etc.... will do, pick your favorite and fly, fly, fly....
But as TOM suggested above, skip the 80cc and jump right to 100cc, the cost difference is minimall

I agree with TOM, jump up to the 100cc size plane. I did this summer and sold my 50cc planes. Ohio Model Planes has an excellent package with a DLE-111 in a Yak and Extra. http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/85-100ccyak/index.htm

RE: Which 3D plane do we recommend?
Though I do like the looks and appeal of the Ultimate I kinda steer myself away from the biplane due to the extra setup and dismantle. Living a short distance from the airfield I'm constantly asssembling and disassembling for an hour or two of fun. This is also the reason for not going bigger 100+cc size. Can't get them in the truck and I don't have a trailer. Two others at the airfield have the 50cc MX-2,awesome plane, so that one is out of the question.

Most 100cc planes will fit in the back of a long bed pick up with only the removal of the main wings. Tail and spinner remain on the aircraft. A short bed pick up only requires the tail gate to be down. A purist might use an 8' sheet of plywood in the back of a short bed to create a single platform and limit motion of a lowered tail gate.

As far as flying ability and design what seperates or makes the difference between the edge 540 and the Extra 260, or extra 300. Everyone raves about the edge and I've never really understood what makes this plane so much better than the others.

Depends on how you want to fly. Pattern/Imac? Extras, Giles 202, and Yak 55m's do it best. 3d? An Edge or Yak 55sp fills the bill.
It's called stability. The Edge was designed to be less stable in yaw than other planes, and involves a lot more than I have time to write about.

3D would be the intent. How about the 85cc Extra 260 by EG Aircraft? Any recommendation for a power source? How about the 5.8 Brison?

T.o.m,
If you could pick one 100 cc plane for 3d money to burn what would you buy and the engine would be BME 116?

2.6m Comp Arf Edge and a 3w-110. Hands down winner. The Compy needs a little more weight up front and the 3w out torques everything aside from MVVS in the class.
Slightly less spendy but equally performing is a 35% Pilot Edge and BME-116 or 3-110. A third choice is the Pilot 35% Katana with the same engines.
Pilot used to be SD Models/TOC and their performance has always been exemplary. They have only gotten better since becoming Pilot. The only company that covers as well as them is SebArt.
