Receiver Battery also Powering Smoke Pump??
Using a Sullivan Skywriter pump. Anyone ever had an issue with powering the smoke pump from the receiver battery?
Using dual A123 packs into receiver. Each pack has twin leads so I could use one to power the Skywriter. In the past I
powered the pump with its own battery. Trying to make things simple.
THANKS, TOM

Hi,
I'd keep the Rx battery isolated to Rx duties. If anything went wrong with your pump (not at all unheard-of) then you'd be sorry...

The Powerbox smoke pump is designed to work off a PB unit where each servo socket is isolated. I use this on a few models and the Rx battery useage is still very low...but this is only with the PB unit

It is not worth it, I was just told a story yesterday where a guy had electric retracts in his war bird, his buddy told him on numerous occasions that he should power the retracts from a separate source in case the gear hung up... Well the gear hung up (voltage drop on receiver) and now the war bird is no more!
