Wallace Cub Gear Best method of securing Gear
Been using the Wallace Cub gear for my 35% cub for many years . Have used everything from rubber bands to small nylon bungee cords. I was thinking of trying to use some heavy duty O Rings to secure the gear. There is a lot of weight on the gear on the 35% cub . Any ideas.

I used the Robart gear on a 1/4 J3 and the gear came with orings . The orings didnt last that long before they started to fail . I think they may have been around awhile and started to degrade .
Since then i have been using the bungy cord from Balsa USA . I use it on my 1/4 J3 and on my 1/3 Super Cub with no problems so far . If you find some orings that will work on your 35% make sure the orings havent been sitting around too long as the rubber does tend to degrade.

RE: Wallace Cub Gear Best method of securing Gear
One more question i seen the bungees on the balsa website but i was wondering how do the they attach to the Robart type gear or Wallace gear.?? I tried calling Dave at Balsa but he was busy on the phone. They look similar to the ones i have used before but mine were purchased in a Auto store with tiny loop ends for securing around the protrusions that stick out from the tubing on the Wallace Gear .

I make a loop in the end of the cord and wrap it securely with stainless wire and then put a small section of heat shrink over the wrapped area . BTW : I usualy use enough cord to wrap around each leg side 4or 5 times and crossover at least 2 times . 1 cord for each side of the gear which will cover both leg sides .
