Hey Chad:
Is the rumor true there is going to be a 116 inch Macci 202 at WOTR next year? and maybe a radial , 116 inch Macci 200 as well.
Now that would be a pair. THe only two in the world.

Guys I have to tell you that this event just keeps getting better and better! Some of the best RC aircraft in the world, non-stop flying, great people, and real-life American heroes of WWII that you can just walk up and talk to them. Also, the flight line ran like a well-oiled machine. WOW! To everyone that worked so hard to put this together, kudos to all of you. This is a world-class event!
Here is a sampling of pics by Best Pilots official photographer, John Dussold. More photos are at http://bestpilots.typepad.com/photos/WOTR11/

Does anyone have more inflight pics (maybe even a video) of Evan's D-13 in flight?
Yellow 10 is my favorite of all the Doras, and his model is an astonishing work of art.

Sorry about that, it is a beautiful plane but I don't seem to have caught it. I only shoot planes in the air starting with the noon show as otherwise, the sun is in the wrong place. I concentrate on the planes that are close but try to get a shot of everything in the air when there are several up but I sure missed that one.

Sorry, I already had most of the video of Ryan's already done. So I'm going to go ahead and post this one now. The video of your D13 and the rest of the coverage will be included with the full coverage article that I'm working on. That is coming along nicely so it should be ready to go before too long.
Brian asked me if I could put up a video in the thread while I'm finishing up the main article. So I told him I would get something for him. I had been a bit anxious to see how this shot I did with Ryan's 262 turned out. The onboard camera is the FlycamoneHD from Hobby Lobby. (www.hobby-lobby.com). it's not a very expensive camera, but it does very good quality for the price. Jason Cole from Hobby Lobby let me have one of these cameras to use for coverage (I give him a little plug back in exchange). This is really the first chance that I've had to use it at an event, so I was anxious to see how it came out. Here in this vidoe I placed the camera on the underside of Ryan's ME-262. I wanted a 2 view perspective of a flight, one from the ground looking at the plane and then a picture in picture of the view from the plane in flight. I think it turned out pretty nicely.
In full coverage I put the camera to use recording Brian's noon time pyrotechnics show. I had a pilot flying a L-4 with the FlycamoneHD on it flying chase and airborne footage of the explosions and pyro. It turned out really nice. I'll post a link here in this thread when that article goes live.
Here is Ryan's fligth with the ME-262.

It did come out very nicely! I assume that's the camera mounted on the bottom of the fuselage under the tail in my photo in the post at the top of this page?
-Scot
Yep, that's exactly what that is in the picture you are talking about. Ryan suggested that was the best place for it. I was worried about a heat issue, but he said that there wouldn't be any problems with heat there. He was correct, no issues with the heat. I liked the view that I got from it mounted there.

Ken:
Thanks for the fantastic effort!! The blackened patches along the runway that someone noticed were not from pilot misfortunes or failed campfires. As you know theses spots were from the terrific pyro show masterfully created and staged by Angel Light Pyrotechnics [link]http://www.angellightpyrotechnics.com/index.html[/link]. The local fire department was present in case anything got out of control..
