That's a real low blow.
Bob's work is easily identifiable, something like that pops up for sale, and you know it's a Bob S made item. I'm on the lookout down under.
Hey Speedypetey61, you selling yours too?

That sucks. How does someone just walk away with something that big?

This was done early in the morning, nobody else was really there yet, just a handful of people including the victims 9 year old son, plus our track is based on government property, so they are taking the matter very seriously.

I had a greatplanes P6E Hawk with a brand new Saito 1.50 golden knight engine and all high torque servos come up missing the same way.
I expect there was around 1,200 worth of plane they stole. The only thing I had left was my transmitter as it was in my house rather a building like the plane was house in.
I reported it to cops and made fliers and posted them everywhere. No one ever heard a word or seen the plane since and that was in 08 I believe.

So he was robbed, big difference from steailing. Especially when it is armed robbery. I am sure it will probably end up trying to be sold on Long island or North Jersey to the local hobby shops. YOu should contact them also as there are not many of them.

Bob makes some awesome parts, he built me my rail as you can tell from the pics, some similarities between the 2.

haven't seen anything pop up yet down here, looking at all sites I can think of where you'd unload this kinda gear.
Bob's Solo bottom ends, and diffs are unmistakeable. So easy to spot.
Seems lots of gear is getting pinched in the US mate.
On another 1:1 scale forum, cars, trailers, & towing vehicles are going missing at an alarming rate.
Was the rail insured at all?
Worst part would be if these crooks got nabbed, they get off with a slap on the wrist, eh.
It's just wrong.[>:]

Dude that's not funny. If some A - hole pinched one of your billet beasts, well, you'd be pretty pee'd off, and putting the feelers out, right? If my stuff went south that way, well; the cops would be informed, yes; better yet, "known associates" would be informed too. And I bet justice would be done. Without the paperwork.

RE: STOLEN 1/4 scale DRAGSTER
I normally wouldn't post in a thread like this, but I kinda felt the need. I feel for you on the loss of such a truly beautiful piece of equipment. I sincerely hope she is returned to you unmolested. The real reason I am posting is because of the manner in which it was taken and things that could/should be done in the future to help prevent or even lessen the chance of recurrence.
Firstly, they were armed, a gun and a Pitbull (although not much of a weapon, its more of an intimidation thing). Secondly, there were three of them. Thirdly, you were there with a child. The reason I point these things is because they have some bearing on how/why it happened.
I will summarize the best I can. The fact the 3 armed guys, with a pitbull, robbed a lone man at gunpoint in front of his child definitely leads me to believe they were probably very nervous about the whole deal (ie. inexperienced) They picked their chance when your child was their because parenting instincts would immediately place the childs well being far above the car. Thus you would be less likely to resist. Couple that with there being 3 of them and a dog. Its was almost a no win for you, and I am sorry you and your child had to endure that kind of situation.
Now how can one prevent this kind of thing? Nobody totally can. All you can do is lessen the odds that it will. Sure some of these may seem a bit obvious, or "barbaric". Never run alone, especially with just your child. A lone man is easy prey for 3 armed guys. Arm yourself, and make it obvious you are and know how to use it. This is by far the best option IMO. Sure, some would say I am a gun toting redneck from KY, and I would agree! But the key principle behind being openly armed is to not look like bait, but instead look like a shark. If those guys who were obviously unsure of themselves when you were unarmed knew a weapon was on your side. I honestly doubt they would have attempted risking their lives for it. This is a cold callous world we live in, and its getting worse by the day. Please do whatever you can to defend yourself and your property.
Also, this post was not to degrade, demoralize or poke fun of anyone put in this kind of situation. It bluntly, sucks. I hate it for him to lose this obviously cherished piece. All I am trying to offer is some of my own insight into how and why. Obviously these are my opinions and can be taken with a grain of sand.......

RE: STOLEN 1/4 scale DRAGSTER
I've been checking LHS's on LI that I frequent and passed along the word to them. Hopefully something turns up for you. In this hobby there are simply vehicles, then there are examples like this. Obviously this was a labor of love, I hope you find a happy resolution to this.
