Sierra Giant Scale service....
Just wanted to put in my two cents here. I had a less than stellar takeoff with my ETM Avenger last week, which resulted in my breaking! one of the struts. I mailed the struts to Darrel on Tuesday, I got a call today that they were done and would be on their way. I would have to rate that as excellent service, couldn't ask for more. I should see them sometime early next week, I'll let ya'll know how they look.

Better than my luck. I. Spent nearly $1000 on 1/5 fw190 scale mains, retracting tail and wheels.
The mains leaked air horribly at first
the tail leaked so bad it would drain 2 large robart tanks in under a minute..
the tail gear broke during its first taxi bc it was glued together with ca
one of the main gear down lock pivot bolts had a machine nut on 1/2 of a thread. This failed after 2 cycles by hand. Only took 2 months to get the parts to fix it.
then after getting the new shoulder bolt and locknut (like the other main gear had). The locknut would foul on the main gear strut. 6 emails and 2 phone calls over 4 weeks, and never once got a response, so i finally had to grind a slot in the strut for it to clear..
But he did a great job in sending me his payment information in less than 6 hours from when i asked for it everytime..

That is great, I personally have dealt with Darrell on 4 separate occasions spanning the last 3 years. Each and every time I called him he answered first call, took my order, and I received my items within 5 business days or less. I have never had a problem.

All my dealings with Sierra and Darrell have been great.
Have bought and used his retracts a few times. I am very happy with the quality of my retracts.. very strong too !
Service has always been good - even when I changed my mind on some wheels and a tailwheel retract unit. Both were exchanged promtly.
NO complaints here . . .

The service varies. A lot.
I've had spare parts shipped here in record time,
Lately I've heard nothing, and cannot make contact.
I've called dozens of times over the last few weeks, and each and every time I end up being forwarded to the voice mail box.
Emails go on unanswered.
This is not the way to do business.

I have to agree with Kjell Aa, I have e-mailed Darrell three times requesting cost for replecement parts for my 100 degree rotating retracts. So far theres been no return message with price and shipping, just my two cents

If anyone gets in touch with Darrell, could you remind him that I am waiting for spare parts for a T28 nosegear, the flying season is coming to an end up here so it is probably too late for any more flying before I get this.
A complete undercarriage for a Balsa USA Stearman, including wheels and (if possible) brakes.
In addition I need a price estimate for retracts for a Don Smith A26 Invader.
