Hey thanks Scott. By chance I checked Tower and they have them in stock. I'll add it to my next order. Kind of strange that they're not on the Slimline web site. My LHS just closed about 4 months ago so I have to order everything on-line, including basic things like glue, CA, wood, etc. It's really too bad what is happening to hobby shops.

I have a Skyshark P-40N, NIB, and was thinking of selling it. I don't remember what I paid for it or what the shipping cost was.

Anyone know the actual cost? Have they gone up in price?

Charles

Seems the price did go up a bit. I believe I paid 489.00? I did get the spinner with the kit, is the spinner still offered with the 529.00 price?

I may have to sell mine, I need the money.

Hi,

What length servo extensions are needed for the ailerons and Flaps? The directions say 12" for the ailerons, but that seems too short for an 82in w/s. Nothing mentioned for the flaps. Also, are servo reverse Y harnesses needed for the flaps and elevator servos (mounting elevator servo's in fuselage center).

Thank you,

Oriole

Nevermind. Mike Grey helped me out. Great customer support as usual from Skyshark.

If you do not have a computer radio with mixing, you will need servo reversers (or digital/reversed servos) on the flaps and elevators.

Thank you, Mike.

make sure you dont use a old style servo reverser with an amplifyer .
The amplifyer will interfere with the new 2.4 systems , trust me I did my research .
Many of the split y connectors will reverse the servo , some have a larger unit on them that is an amplyfer , that is what you need to advoid on a 2.4

Hello
I am NEW to this thread. I just picked up a Skyshark P-40 with servos and was wondering if the servos that came with the plane will be strong enough. It has through out the plane all Hitec HS-5485 Digital servos. Pulling 89 OZ @ 6 volts and Carbonite gears. Will be adding a 50cc gaser and thought i read some where that using Hitec HS-5485 carbonite geared servos was a disaster waiting to happen with any gas engine over 50cc, as the gear can shatter. Is this correct? Or do you think I could go with some Hitec 645 analog servos @133 OZ. of torque.

The only darw back I have going wiith the analog servos is that there not programable and I'm using a Spektrum DX7 so I'm pressed for channels. If you think the HS-5485's will be OK in the P-40 then life gets a whole lot better.

Please reply, Thanks

Jim

Jim.....I just happened to take a look at this thread. It has been inactive for a while. I have flown this plane and have anther new in the box that I picked up at a good price.
I went a little overboard on engine (G 62) three batteries, finish etc and mine was a bit heavy. I enjoyed mine but dorked it on a bad take off. Wing was fine but fuse was toast. I will rebuild using a light engine like you plus a little more attention to weight.

The manual says standard servos except on rudder if my memory serves....but. I would use metal gear servos all around except for gear valve and throttle. An idea might be to use HiTec 5645 or 5625 servos. You can usually pick these up used from a large scale flyer who has discovered that they are not ideal for an IMAC or 3D plane. They are fine for the P 40 and if you want piece of mind send them to HiTec for service. Will cost a little. You can program the 56xx servos helping with number of channels. Another idea is to not use servo controlled flaps. I never used them for take off and only a few times for landing.
Head it into the wind, ease power in and be ready with right rudder. Mine hooked left unless you were on top of it.

I had a problem with the old style reverser that doesn't like 6v. Works ok with 4.8 volts. Paul

I'm still flying mine. I put a DLE55 under the hood. Sierra Precision retracts. They suck up the bumps and not so perfect landing right up!! The DLE 55 rips it around! I also have a custom Jtec muffler made up for it.

Beautiful. Can you show how you made the exhausts?

JSZ,

The only exhaust I had noticed was for the ESM P-40. Is that what you are suggesting?

I'm thinking that if the plane is 1/5th scale, then the ESM would would work with some minor modifications. The location of the exhaust doesn't change because of the specific make of the kit, but only of the scale.
