Default DLE 111 Cylinder Bolt Torque

Can any of the engine guys tell me the torque of the bolts on the cylinder? Changing to a version 2 crank.

There a reason you're changing to a v2 crank? Why not go to v3 if you're doing all this work? April 2011, they added a rear crank bearing, new case, etc ; see below.

**DLE Engines made a running crankshaft change in April 2011.**
**The new versions start with serial number B4100.**
**To convert the crankshaft from an old version to a new version use DLEG1135**

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBJLG&P=V

This is the Crankshaft Conversion Set for the DLE-111cc Gasoline Engine.

FEATURES: Contains all parts to convert engines made before serial #B4100,
April 2011 to the currently produced engines

INCLUDES: DLEG1122 111-2 Crankshaft/Rods
DLEG1123 111-3 Crankcase
DLEG1124 111-12 Bearing Set
DLEG1125 111-16 Prop Drive Hub
DLEG1126 111-20 Woodruff Key 15m

REQUIRES: Disassembly of engine to install conversion

Lnewqban, thanks for the info. Egan, this is the same part that I ordered, just from a different place. Price and shipping are the same. Did you get your H9 Extra going?

Nah, been having some troubles with the new 111 I bought, plus I haven't had an ounce of time to finish building her yet. I figured why rush it for a couple weekends; it'll give me something to do this winter instead. We usually get snow up here middle of Nov. or so. :P

It was Thanksgiving weekend this weekend here in Canada as well. I did end up doing some FPV flying with a group of guys from my home town in Lethbridge. That was a blast!

I have a ver 1 DLE 111 with a Warbro carb. Pistons look new. The guy I got it from said it had may have a quart of gas burned in it. Replacing the crank because of the problems ver 1 had and the advice of a someone I consider an engine guru. Cutting the cowl on mine now. All servos and electronics installed. If the weather here in Vegas holds, I may first flight this weekend.

For the user it only has the potential to create problemssuch aswhen all you need is to replacea bentcrankshaft.

The only benefit is to the factory, saving $ in manufacturing, it also allows foreasier adaptation for a rear mounted electric starter.

I hope to solve the problem of rod bearing failure in the version 1 DLE 111's. The conversion I have will, should, make this a version 2 engine.

As someone told me a while back, "Do you want that in the back of your mind every time you fly?"

Unless the engine serial number is under 650 you wasted your money. There is nothing wrong with the previous version of the crankshaft. In fact, except for the rear main bearing, all the other bearings are exactly the same bearings. If the serial number is below 650, you would also have to replace the cylinders, pistons, and rings to make it a version 2 engine.

Serial #B0241. Ok, so I have to order new parts. I do get some experience in putting together an engine. Any recommendations on torque values or proceedures?

TOM, thanks for the info. Was it your "B" day a while back? If so, happy belated.

No, but thanks anyway.

I obscure personal information on internet sites. If I can't block it completely it is not accurate by any stretch. It makes "borrowing" identities a lot more difficult.

Is there any type of thread locker needed for the cylinder bolts?
