Why did you adjust the punch control?
LOL.. I see.... The only thing I have ever adjusted on my Flux HP esc was the lipo setting and I haven't had any issues execpt for the orginial ESC dying 7 months ago.

I have a question for everyone else. I am looking at installing a Mamba Max esc in my XS if the ESC smokes on me but my MM doesn't have a fan. What fan should I get for it?

I change the HPI racing 2.2" tire, chassis is lower, much better tracking control, no rolling occur during high speed turn. H-Energy 2s 6000mah 60c is fxxxxx good performance!

Hpi just released steel Universal driveshafts for the xs flux and Anodized suspension pin braces , the driveshafts are a must have for the xs. I sold mine bc of the overheating esc but if I still had it I'd def. Use the driveshafts as my first upgrade , this is what the car should have come with n the 1st place , check hpi's website for the info.

I was running the Flux HP on 3s 20c 5000mah lipos when it just died.

I am running the XS on 2s 25c 5200, 2s 25c 5000mah and 2s 30c 5000mah lipos, I have also ran it for about 15 minutes on the 3s 20c 5000mah lipos without any issues.

I didn't think the hex in the stock rims was made of metal, its plastic.

They are definately metal....I took mine off yesterday to try a different set of rims...they are metal. HPI does include a plastic hex....both with a shoulder and without.

Another note....I heard many say that their hexes were glued/loctite-ed on...My metal hexes were not stuck on....they came right off.
Your lucky if yours just came right off.. I had to heat mine with a lighter for about 3-5 mins per wheel to get them off.
I would be scared to over heat the bearings that way.

I don't think anyone in here is running thunderpower except me. They have a new line of batteries out recently and their prices have come down a lot. They are the only battery I own. I don't think I've ever met anyone that runs maxamps batteries.

I clean my electric trucks much less than my nitros......

I've been thinking about prices of chinese versus north american batteries and ESCs after reading some comments in here (and many other posts in other forums).

I've been thinking about the ESCs I am running and for one application thought about getting a hobbywing 150A esc instead of a tekin rx8 or mamba monster. The ESC is 115 or so shipped off ebay or 225 shipped in a combo with a 2200 kv motor.  The corresponding mamba monster prices are 150 and 325, respectively.

A 2s 5400 mAh 35/60C hard case lipo is 75 shipped, Seems to be about double the price of a turnigy or zippy pack and 30% more or so than other packs I've seen.

I've always seen the difference between the two to be 30% for a comparable product.  In the 'up to a few hundred dollar' price range thats up to a hundred bucks.  If anything the chinese product prices have driven the north american prices down which is a good thing.  I don't see the price difference as being as large as its often reported.

Its been raining here and I haven't been fluxing.  Unfortunately my truck isn't waterproof anymore.

There wasn't enough direct heat on the bearing to cause any pamage to them.

Are you using an external power source for the programming card? You need a y-connector and 6v battery.
Thanks for the info, I hadn't noticed that it said that right on the card. Unfortunately I am still having no luck, now the green "Link" light comes on but nothing else. Pushing the button makes no difference and no other lights come on. I played around with flipping the connectors in every possible combination and it just won't work. Frustrated...

You need to update the card to allow it to work with the XS speed control. You will need the Castle Link program on your computer and when you first plug in the card, the program will tell you there is an update for it, install it and it will work perfectly after that,

The diff case has the same thick grease used in the housing to lube the ring and pinion. I put 50,000w diff fluid in the rear diff case when I had mine apart and it now accelerates in a straight line and has better traction in the dirt. I am tempted to put some in the front diff to help with the steering, maybe 25,000w would do it.
