Default Fitting two DSM2 Rxs

I am putting together a twin engined model which will have 7 servos in the wing, so to make it easier to put together at the flying field I proposed putting an AR8000 DSM2 RX and battery in the wing with an AR600 DSM2 RX in the fuselage just for the elevator and rudder with its own battery. I set this up on the bench and inserted bind plugs and the batteries into both RXs and got the LEDs flashing on both, then switched on the Tx, a DX8, holding down the Bind button. The LEDs on both RXs went solid. I switched everything off, removed the Bind plugs and switched eveything on again, the LEDs still on solid on both Rxs but only the servos on one RX worked. I repeated this several times and only the servs on one or the other Rx worked never both together. Any one got any ideas please.

You need to Bind each Rx, one at a time, one after the other.

The AR8000 needs to be the same protocol as the AR6000. Meaning they both have to be set-up in DSM2 or DSMX to work if one is DSM2 and the other is DSMX it will not work.

As mentioned before, you have to do one at a time.

AR600 is DSMX (even if not marked as such), so both should bind in DSMX.
Now, there may be an issue if the AR8000 is a 2048 resolution receiver. My understanding is that both receivers in a dual receiver must be either 2048, or 1024 resolution, but not a combination of both.

So to save resoultion, protocol or other conflicts, it would be best to use identical recievers. We know that works

BINGO!

Dick Hanson and I found this out early on trying to run an AR7000 with an R921 and we could only get one rx to work at a time. Turned out it was the difference in resolution since the AR7000 is 1024 while the R921(AR9000) is 2048. When you bind the rx using a 2048 capable tx there is a negotiation between the two on which resolution to run as the tx cannot run both resolutions simultaneously.

Haven't tried it with the new DSMX rx's some of which are coming with the higher resoltion e.g. the AR6115E Horizon included when the sent my DX8 back from having the SB done, says it's a 2048 resolution.

Andy's comment is also probably the best advice for running dual rx's....
