Default Best .15 Engine - NTC3

What is the best .15 engine available right now when it comes to top speed and how does it compare to the AE.15 that comes in the NTC3.

thanks

Why a .15 instead of an .18? the mounts will be the same on each. there seems to be more .18's available than .15's. You might want to look at an OS18CVR or OS18TZ (needs a new exhaust manifold) or even the LRP Z18

The .15 size is kind of in no-man's-land. It doesn't have a racing class, and it's not favored by bashers, therefore, there are very few good ones. Having said that, the stock AE ones (sic: Thunder Tiger ones) are actually very good. The stock engines are one of the best features of Thunder Tiger and Associated RTRs.

Go for a .12 or an .18 though.

Jude, back in the golden days of RC Onroad racing there was a 235mm class 2wd and 4wd unfortunately this class no longer exisit. Some of the cars in this class use to run a big block Nova Rossi .15 engine that was extremely powerful rumored to be as powerful as some .21's This motor is no longer in production and parts are hard to find for them so they end up being collectors idems. Foxy is right get a .18 or .12 and modify it.

I'm quite happy with my OS 18 CV-RX. More power than the car has any business having, makes for great fun. Also quite reliable, and if your trigger finger is smooth enough it's just as docile as the stock motor as well.

Absolutely love it.

honestly, the gears are meshed perfectly with the .15

I put a lrp.18 and a 18tz in my other NTC3 and the spurs got stripped right away. I'm just tired of stripping spur gears.

The engine displacement does not affect your gear mesh, and my stock gearing is holding up amazingly well to the power. I run my car off road too, which is harder on the gears due to all the dirt getting sucked into them.

Look into the new Picco .12 EDO Torque engine. It is a promising engine and even Murnan Modified really approves of this engine.
