I bought the dual 700 conversion. Its ok if you want something better than stock than traxxas crappy motors. But its not much faster and they make ur truck extremly heavy. I had a problem getting nimh batteries that wouldn't melt running the motors. So I went lipo then finally went brushless cause I wanted the truck to be faster. It just depends on what you want. I would think you would be just as well of with the single conversion as you would the dual. Then you would have less weight and less load on your batteries. Good luck.

What are you hoping to gain from the setup? More speed? A Brushless setup and LiPos would be a better option to achieve that.

Like sjhm said, the extra power the dual setup has gets offset by the additional weight.

Yes, you could smoke the motors but most likely you will smoke the ESC first.
