RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
Yep thats about what I did.
I still have not flown mine so i can't tell you if it worked right or not. I am still working out an engine issue. I orginally had the 70 four strokes mounted inverted (like i have almost always done) and never could get them running right. I finally gave in and mounted them sideways and while doing so I realized that i had the fuel tank WAY ABOVE the carbs when the engines were inverted. This i am sure was flooding out the engines. Bad thing is now i will have two cowls all hacked up!
best of luck

Inverted engines require the low end adjustment to be leaned out. I have a VQ P-38 W/
inverted OS91s. They are running good so far. Moat ARFs don't allow much tank adjustment.
Has the sideway mount solved your problem?

I have saito 91's for my KMP B-25, but they are mounted sideways.....its the only warbird ive done that with...all others have been inverted.

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
Switching them to sideways I think helped, but the main issue was the height of the fuel tanks. I was aware of the low end needing adjustment. I adjusted several times and with mixed results. All my 4 strokes have been inverted which is why I never gave this a second thought.
Even with onboard glow always on the would stumble and load up when throttle was advanced. I did not get much testing done after because on the first run I stripped the gear for the right throttle servo and have not had time to replace it. Too bad I wanted to fly it this weekend since next weekend is our giant/warbird flyin at my club.

I see you have the RCV 91 CD IN a P47 hanger 9 60
But what I would like to know is do those motors fit in the B25?? If so how was it done? I can't seem to find in this KMP B25 thread. I have bought these motors a few years back
with first asking Andrew Kondor what he recomended only now to find it don't fit without cutting into the cowl and the firewall to make room for the carb.
I f anyone has any info and pictures on how it is done it would much be appreciated.

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
Well so much for that! The RCV 91 CD are finaly installed in the earlier version of KMP B25 some alterations to the firewall to fit the carb and the cowl had to be altered to allow the head pertrude outside the cowl. Won't fly it till later this year when the weather breaks into warmer days. I am having a freind of mine assembling this B25. and will later break-in the motors and install Bill Wike's engin TwinSync ., I may have to send them back to Bill to update since I want to have the onboard glow and tach options.
This thread is almost dead. any one out there??

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
Does any know what specific brand and colors the 95" KMP B-25 are painted in? I need to match the green and gray paint as well as the green iron on covering. I'd like to use the exact colors if possible.
Thanks!

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
Roltech,
I have the exact same setup 80" B-25 with RCV 91 CD engines. Mine have been hanging in my garage for the past 2 years completed, Just had to do the radio setup. Now i have decided todo the Dynamic balsa scale cockpit, nose and gun package upgrade. What a mission..... it took me whole friday night Saturday and most of subday evening to make the top turrent fit. i am now working on the nose.
Having not handled the plane in 2 years the quality of the origional retracts (gen 3)with Oleo's that seemed OK then are apauling now. Compared to my FW-190 and, ME-109 and DC-3 retracts these are junk!!!!!
Wil seriously have to consider Robarts or Century jet or anything else.
Anybody,
What other scale retracts are available for the 80" B-25?
Regards

Yes there is some suppliers of retracts including KMP and "Model Avation Products" www.ModelAviationProducts.com "Well known around here and other countries" I will first fly with the original retracts that came with the 80" KMP B25. If it survive the flight and I will consider ordering a pair of better retracts. If you get a chance to take it up let us know how it turned out.

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
I went to the Perry Georgia swap meet this weekend and came home with a new in the box KMP B-25.
Just wondering if you guys are still flying yours and if any new owners are out there.
Will have to give this thread a thorough read before I start putting it together.

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
I bought the smaller one five or six years ago and never started it. I just recently purchased the equipment to build it electric. Once I get unpacked at my new house I plan on this as the next project, which I hope will be in the new week or so. I will post progress once I start assembling it.

Hi
Let's see if there's still any 83" B-25 owners out there!
I picked one up 2nd hand at a bargain price, looked fine externally.
After inspection there were some issues, mainly oil that had leaked in one of the nacelles from a ruptured tank. I dried the wood using alcohol and talkum powder, then fuel-proofed with epoxy.

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
I have overhauled the engines - Magnum/ASP FS80's that needed new bearings and piston ring.
I run them on a test stand and following some break-in they both performed well: 10,000 rpm on a MAS 14x6
I checked the engine position and looks correct

We won't be discussing engines then but retracts, servos, elevator linkage, AUW are coming next

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
I have had my KMP B25 for quite a while, I have the RCV 90's on it ( cool sound ) with Robarts. Very happy with this setup. I also have the KMP Tigercat with new sierras ( never did get that put together ). Anyway your going to love the B25 just an awesome flyer.

RE: KMP B-25 CONSTRUCTION.
The one item I'm not happy with is the elevator linkage: single servo, long dowel and forked pushrod
How has this worked for you, should I trust it or devise an alternative? I was thinking of mounting a single servo in the tail with flex-rods, similar to the one suggested on the last pages of the manual for the rudders.
What do you suggest?
