Ok guys here is a little vid of one of the first tests in the snow from drew.

I can tell from the vid he is in no way getting top speed, there was a thin layer of ice so he was having problems getting traction.
but you can still see it do a few catwalks when trying to get full power.
I have given him some info on some of the tweaks he should do and he will get a lot more speed and it won't bounce so much.
Anyways here is the link to the vid.

At least there are a few people trying to build a DECENT Rc sled around here, things may get interesting,
on a sidenote, nice job on that sled, first time ive ever seen a RC sled wheelie, very very nice.

i have a possible idea for making it handle better with the turns. itd take some injinuity but obviously u have that. its the same concept the rc surfer uses. it has a surfer ontop of a board that leans. if u put an action figure ontop of the snowmobile that leaned itd probably handle well. altho i think that weight needs to be added as low as u can get it. but very cool! hill climbs like a beast!

hey everyone seems kinda dead around the snowmobiles, i am working on my first build and thought i had something lined up on spare parts but i havent heard back. so if you have any new bright sled parts hit me up, right now the one thing i need is the bottom piece of the ski, i got my first sled and it only has one and well it just wont work in the snow that way lol. i am interested in any parts though so just hit me up... thanks

Dark, There has been interest here on and off, we just dont have a good model to use and thats what kills the interest, we are the forgotton part of the hobby.
for your battery, there are alot of different size lipos made, go look up hobby king for one with the right dementions you may need, he has some good cheap prices, you have to find the 4s thats gonna fit. modifying may be needed, idont have your sled to tell you futher to be honest.

im trying to get a kit togeather to offer to the public, a good kit on the market would bring all kinds of interest, this is a part of the hobby waiting to explode if you want my opinion, way to many people with snow and interest in this hobby for us to be dead, our current offerings on the market are nothing short of pathetic.
with time, we well have better options.

Has anyone heard from Mr. Krupp - RCSnowmobiles.com? He was suppose to have a manufacture lined up and in the works to reproduce some of his sleds. His nitro stuff is really awsesome.

tman52806
lets see your set-up and what are you using ?

Ok a lot of people are asking about measurements so in-case I did miss some here is a few for you.

Now this is for all the new suspension that I did it in my other post.
The belt i use is 3/8 wide by .200 pitch main pulley is 40 teeth and pinion pulley is 10 teeth i believe the belts i got were 50, 55, 60, teeth.
the big pulley has a 1/4 bore and the pinion pulley had a 3/16 bore drilled to 5 mil for the motor.
The belt idler pulley i made to use for a 3/8 belt I used 1/4 x 3/8 bearings for it so the inside of the pulley is 9/16 round and the lip on the edge to keep the belt in line is 3/4 an it is 5/8 wide total.
the steering blocks are 1-1/8 high 3/4 wide and 3/8 thick with a 1/4 inch hole drilled as close to the one edge as possible for the arm that holds the ski.
the suspension arms are 5-5/8 center to center of the rod-ends, the steering arms are a bit longer they are 6-1/4 center to center of the rod-ens they need to be like this so
all the geometry works right and keep the ski's straight through the suspension travel.
The steering horns you need to make sure that where the arms connect to the horn from the center of the shaft that holds the ski is only 3/4 of an inch or the arms will hit the tunnel when the
suspension is fully compressed.
the long trailing arms that hold the ski's and bolt to the sides of the sled are 1-5/8 long that is from the center of the rod-end with a 15% bend one inch from the end.

If there is anything else let me know

Thanks
Hurricane
