It sounds like he is using the right gears....Can you take some pics right by the spur and pinion gears?
What kind of motor do you have in there? A stock one?
Have you ripped apart your 2 speed tranny and clean everything and all the bearings?
How are the bearings on your pinion gears?
And what pinion gears are you using?

Are the pinion gears eatened up?
Is your pinion and spur gears spinning freely when spun?
Be careful if they're too lose will cause that problem.

Hey fellas,
I wanted to buy a new pipe, right now I'm using an OS pipe along with an OS18tz. Next engine I will get will be the same but modded by AB, RB, or EB. The pipe I have an eye on is from Bukupower.com
These pipes are adjustable, I have their adjustable clutch and seems to be doing a better job than the HPI flywheel and clutch.
Do you guys know of any other pipe I should take take a look at?
Or take a look at bukupower.com and tell me what you think, there are videos you can see.

hello all, quick question. Im thinking about getting an RS4 and was wondering if you can put any 1/8 scale car body on it? In other words, the one I want comes with a corvette body, but if I want to put a newer style vette body, or a nascar stock car body on it etc? Are they all interchangeable?

Sup guys..
Ihave gotten back into the on road scene again. Have a quick question for you RS4 guys.. Icant remember but what are the "main rules"when it comes to dropping a new motor into these??Imean aside from size is it called a short crank or long crank etc??
Can someone throw up a list of all known engines that will drop right in, drop in but might need mods etc but will work??
Iknow a lot of guys run OSengines "18" but I am unsure of what the actual specs or details are which engine etc..
Thanks

The perfect drop o.s engine you can drop right into the RS4-3 is the 18tz with the rotary carb and the pullstart. You can use your stock engine mounts, flywheel, clutch and clutch nut.
If you use the o.s 18 TZ with the none pullstart with the slide carb, you will have to use different flywheel, clutch and possibly adjustable engine mounts.

Also anyone here try running the Buku Power Pipe or their new Small Block Clutch??
They look and sound good but man they are pricey..

I'm using the clutch right now. Man, did it make a good improvement on my launch. It's a great upgrade for your money. I have been using the HPI racing clutch and flywheel and now I feel like I have been wasting my time and money on that junk. But this Buku, is awesome even when I use my high speed gears (37/41 spurs) the launch is still great. I can still dragrace with this gearing along with this clutch.
But.... If you are using a short shaft on your engine like I am on my pullstart 18tz, Buku will have to make you an adapter to make the clutch fit on your shaft.
Next I think of purchasing the pipe.

Ah thats what I wanted to hear!!
A couple of years ago Ibought a used HpiSavage that had a BUKUpipe on it, was totally adjustable and it screamed even with the stock S25 so Ifigured Iwasnt going to go wrong trying out the Buku Clutch or pipe they offer for the Rs4.. Its pricey thats for sure but Imight just have to give it a try..
Dont think there are really any other "good" options out there clutch wise..
The stock 2 shoe just isnt doing it for me..
Thanks again for your input.

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
Hey boys just joined today and had a few questions about the rs4 2. I stumbled upon one in my LHS and i mean it's in decent shape basically bone stock just some minor
chassis hop ups ie. stiffer springs, aluminum hubs etc etc.. now I got a look at the engine, its the stock 3.0 and in good shape no residue on the piston or buildup also seems to
have decent compression so judging by that it has'nt been run an awful lot of times past break in, now my question is should i dive head first into a used car or should i fork out the cash for the evo 3 and that way have a good starting point.. I don't reallyintend on keeping the stock radio, engine or anything really i just needed some bare bones to work off of and hopefully turn in into something i'm gonna enjoy taking to the track, the price of the used rs4 was 249.00, and a new evo would be twice of that so i could really use some suggestions.
any input would be good
thanks guys!

It depends if your going to a top speed with it. If thats the case, the racer 2 is perfect because it has a lower internal gear ratio in it compared to the evo. but the down side is, getting parts for the thing. its not the newest by far.....when i was looking for top speed on my rs4 i almost bought a rs2 racer roller...cause i wanted the internal gears...but after some research i found getting parts for it isn't easy.
Just my two cents....
GL.
Tom
EDIT: Yea sorry, just saw the rs4 2..my bad......disregaurd the message above..

I used to have one these, sold it though. I might get another. I really like the new ones with the BMW Efficient Dynamics body.
Here's a pic of my old one (a bit photoshopped for sexiness) It was totally stock but it's an awesome platform and handled great, one of the most reliable and hassle free nitro engines I've used.
