Default CARF Eurosport IAF - finished and flown

Hi Guys,

I have been building a Eurosport in the past few months. Needed a compact sport jet for my car, and the eurosport is it.
It is the ES version in a custom paint version from CARF.
Based on the swiss scheme with some mods.
Thanks to Peter Weiss the local rep for the assistance with CARF.

I added intakes (lots and lots of work...) and an airbrake (even more work!! ) - but the end result is worth every second of this time consuming investment.

Setup:
Futaba 14MZ
Hitec 7950 servos
Smart fly EQ10 for power distribution
airpower air valves
Evojet 180VX turbine - amazing turbine!! very happy with it.
Futaba GY352 gyro for the vector thrust - Thanks Ali!
Emcotec smoke pump
Life batt. pack
Booma RC electronic dual switch - great stuff
and some more gizmos for the build.

Some pics.

Ziv

I made an access panel to all the inputs needed - fuel, smoke, power switches, etc. So when the airbrake opens - no need to open the cockpit at all!
Just at the end of the day for charging.

The turbine:
I had prior good experience with the Evojet, so decided to go with the 180VX.
It starts easy, no hassle at all. Spool up feels great, around 4.5 secs.
and the power - WOW. Feels like my P200SX on the F16 ...

I am very happy with it so far, and Arno is a great guy with good support.

and the final result..
Flew 4 great flights yesterday... all went well.

After the second flight I got very comfortable with it and started to push the envelope.
The gyro on the VT is right on the spot.. Thanks Ali M. for the support.

I checked the VT for a while and all is well, very responsive, just how I like it.

I will post a video tomorrow.

Cheers ,

Ziv B.

Very nice ES. did your Futaba GY352 gyro works ok with the vector thrust system? I have a spare Align 3gx unit and was wondering if it could work for Thrust Vectoring on my Hotspot or ES .

Hi Ziv B.

did you connect the gyro only to the VT-Servos or to others?

Hey ENT
Thanks for the kind words.
The BRC switches are a small wonder...
I installed them on 3 planes already and they are amazing upgrade to the plane.
The new version has also min/max voltage recording.
For me it's standard from now and on for every plane.

Cheers
Ziv

Like all of your models Ziv...Very Nice! Love the scheme, patriotic and eye catching at the same time. Glad the gyro set up all worked out, and happy to be of assistance anytime.

Thanks again Ali.
The color scheme is very visible in the sky, as you will see in the video that i am uploading now.
I have not tested the smoke system yet (forgot the smoke fluid at home...)

and the video of the 3 first flights..

I got to test and fine tune the gyro.
I did not test the full capabilities of the VT yet as well as the emcotec smoke pump, that will happen next week.

Hi
Smoke tank is located behind the instrument tray in the cockpit on top of the inlets.
I will post a pic for you tomorrow.

Hi,
Do you mean which thrust tube? - it is the CARF original "Tumble tube" ordered from them with the kit.

Ziv,

Does it have thrust vectoring unit? Do you think it could be retrofitted on an old CARF Eurosport?

Thanks,
