I tried to use the new RCEXL hall switch mount on a DA 50.Could not get timing set and use both bolts. This was the new mount with four longer slots.

RC EXL ignitions now come with a sensor mount that requires no drilling, the legs are slotted way longer...You have to check the magnet in the hub before you put the sensor in the bracket...the south pole of the magnet triggers the sensor..you can turn the sensor over in the bracket if the North pole is facing up...

Same here, the center of the hall sensor bracket will be on the center of one of the mounting screws and you have to drill and tap for one screw.
They seem to work on most ZDZ engines as in the picture below and the multi colored wire 3W engines using the green magnet.

flyerdave , Get a carb kit and a new RCEXL ignition and bring that thing on over to Hillsborough and we'll figure it out

I would start at the battery. charge it and see how many mah it takes to charge. A battery can rise in voltage an d output after a rest.
