New Winter Coat
Today I finished a new winter coat for the Leopard.
I started it last summer but was not motavated till today to finish it. Today it snowed all day so this seemed... fitting.
All the tank functions work with the coat on, turret turn, recoil, gun elevation etc...
What do ya think, dumb or cool?
I can't afford a new tank right now so I tinker with free stuff till I can.

RE: New Winter Coat
Does this follow a protoype practice?. I have seen the desert Barricuda camo, so I suppose this winter theme is a possibilty. It seems effective on the model.

I saw the desert camo version so I "invented" this winter style.

I did experiment with a black digital camo on a scrap of the white cloth, but it was too much contrast. The grey is a good idea.

Wow Pah co!!
The digi camo came out great! Wish I could say I got far on my leo build, but it's exactly where I left it off, lol!
The winter camo is a great idea, especially since you have the luxary of snow. Me being in Florida.....I suppose netting with palm tree frawns would look.....okay? Meh...me don't think so. lol

I don't know that trick...
I am wary of anything that could mess up the 300 hour paint job on the Leopard.

Just grind up a stick of chalk, add a little water and brush on.... you now have temp whitewash thatwill come off with a dampcloth(or your fingers). Stay away from deatails just do the flat parts that will be easy towipe off......I do not recomend this for zimerit tanks.

That and it's all just an experiment anyway... the fun of the modern tanks is that you can make more stuff up! WWII tanks have a historical context that I try to maintain.
Here is some more pix, this time in action. The first photo shoot I did not drive it, I just set it out and took pix.
This time I ran it in the street till a truck came along, then I retreated to the yard and assumed a hull down position by some rocks till they passed by. I don't think they saw me. After it was safe to move I crused back to the deck and checked out the tracks. By then my hands were cold.

It is cold... -2 F this morning.
I have added even more to the coat thisevening. Now it has those front things the desert ones have on the turret to cover the big dark area under the bolt onArmor...in white. Also some extra white camo net in rolls lashed on.
Each time I run it I learn a little more.

Here is some pix of the add ons from last night.
I think this is as far as I'm going to take this idea. It rides well and it hides well.
