Fletchers desperate plee on JAM website turned up two airframes in the UK. I don't think he went anywhere with either so it might be worth giving him a call to have a chat!

Hi All,
I spoke with Eric before and at Jet power about the possibility of getting one or two moulded up. but he
told me he was extremely busy and it would not happen soon.

AAHHH! the AD Starjet.............. what a plane.. 250 MPH with a JPX with 9lbs of thrust... my last one weighed less than twenty pounds ..... the foam wings were obeche covered and no spars to speak of just a good thick fibre glass tape joining the wings and spring air retracts .....we went to the first Majorca jet meeting with two of them and I won and Steve Elias was second.... super air plane but I don't know how it would fair with todays powerful engines, maybe it would need some re inforcing on the wings and wing mounts,,, it was a one piece wing just bolted to wood glued into the fuse...... The plane was designed by Harald Piggish in germany and as it came out of the mold it had a very pointed nose, and in the UK we had to round off the nose to the size of a quarter piece as we had rules about the size of the pointed end....Hmmmmmm Here is a picture of my last one back in 1994 or 5 at the Jetmeet .. I had sponsorship from Levi 's Jeans and the blue strips are Denim wraps... Malcolm Kay

Hello,
I have one in my garage that needs to be put together.
I was thinking about powering it with Electric DF around 16 Pounds of thrust. I remember this jet to be a real missile !!!!!!

Regards

John

OK .. here is a picture of my other Starjet, the one Steve Elias flew to second at the Majorca meet, (I'm sure he let me win ! ).... As for Eric, he has been asked many times to remake the Starjet Kit, but I guess he has his reasons not to. .. best wishes MK

OH BOY ! YOU KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT ME !! the exocet bit the dust many many moons ago , I had installed bullet shape inserts in the inlet ,a la mirage, because the inlets were designed for a fan and this mod cut down the drag and we decided to see how fast it would go so I held full throttle and flew the plane in a long race track pattern with wide turns and it kept accelerating until the wing clapped hands on a downwind turn , they separated from the fuse and fluttered down , but the fuse kept on going under full power rotating like a high speed drill till it hit the deck and destroyed itself... and sadly I have no pictures after 18 years or so..but thanks for asking... This is the first Strajet i saw, it was owned by John Franklin. I saw John Palmer fly it at Topgun at Westonzoyland. I see Malcom Kay has been posting, one of his many models that sticks in my memory was his Aggressor with a VERY hi-viz colour scheme!

Sorry Guys ... he wont listen to me any more... our relationship went sour a few years ago.. but you should direct your requests to Eric Rantet at Aviation Design in France or or go to adjets.com But please remember that Eric is well aware of the of the power outputs available to us these days, and I would think that is the problem for him , the Starjet was never designed to fly with say a 36 lb motor and some clown somewhere will do it and the consequences would enormous so unless he decides to retool the whole kit and make it fully composite with plug in wing tubes and carbon fibre spars , I would let sleeping dogs lie... there are others available to you...MK
