RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Hello all, I ground looped the Zero a few weeks ago, the wheel came off and strut went in the grass and ripped the gear out and looseen the other. It was a easy fix and just the screws striped out but on the way over it hit the canopy and broke it. So if anyone out there has a new or good used one I NEED one... Thanks and have a great New Year.

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Frets - thanks much and this forum has been great and I've gained considerably just from others' ideas and inputs....just paying it forward. And I'll toss this out there...besides the one promised to Rainbow1, (got your e:mail), I have another that I'll offer out to the forum with the same deal....new replacement never used or mounted for the cost of shipping. First come first serve to respond to my e:mail [email protected]. All I need to do is find a suitable box and get a USPS cost. Happy new year to all.

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Hi all,
I bought the biggest CMP Zero and I have decided to remake it. I will use it with engine DLE 55, retract. As the best way for retract was retract landing gear for ESM La-7 and home-made tail gear. I´ve just remake flaps, elevator, rudder and airlons. Servo for rudder control is in the rudder, and elevator servos are in stabilizer. Now I get weight 6,5kg and I need about 2,4kg in the front part of fuselage. I hope, that take-off weight will be under 11kg.

Nicely done P !
Where do you get your balsa from? I have a hard time finding good quality light balsa in my area., In hobby shops they stock medium to heavy supply only [:@] I like to select my balsa, but it seems all but impossible in CR.(?)
Thanks,V.

I would like to change with you. Because there are no RC shops in my country, most of RC stuff i have to buy abroad (even from Pelikan CR)

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
I have some balsa, which I bought a few years ago, because as you said our shops are supplied only by medium or hard balsa. So when I don´t have to use light balsa I use medium, but for some details (as ribs on rudder or elevator) I used hard paper (in CR is this paper used by children at elementary schools, or it is usually last page in calendar). On my Zero I took off the original covering and stuck paper on original balsa part. When everything was done I used special covering paper (modelspan).

On my Zero, stripping was fast, easy and clean. No problems with it.

It was pretty easy, look at the misha034´s link. Maybe you have some older version of kit, because you have "holes" between some ribs. My Zero has balsa covering on the whole wing.

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Because the nose of the Zero is very light I have to put every servos into the front part. So I prepared desk of plywood, where will be servos and receiver. Fuel tank is between this desk and the cockpit. I want to hide switches and valve of retract I did "service opening" where will be box with this switches and valve.

That, or a knock-off in a CMP box. Mine doesn't have any "rivits" molded into the fuselage or cowl either, although the CMP replacement canopy and cowl (with rivits) fit perfectly.
Anyway, I'm finishing up on the flap addition and landing gear re-location and reinforcement on the first wing this weekend and then I'll move on to the next wing and remember to shoot more pics.
Then its on to scratch building the ailerons, elevators and rudder since the ones in the box are all fiberglass and don't lend themselves well to modification.
