Default My new JetJoe JJ-1800 KeroStart...

Starting test of my new turbine JetJoe JJ-1800 that I have transformed to KeroStart... ;-)

The test was interrupted by the sudden arrival of people ... :-(
The flickering that is seen at one point was caused by a muscle cramp.
Now I will certainly have to improve the parameters for the correct operation of the turbine.
Since I have not found other online, seems to be the first JetJoe turbine KeroStart ...
Best regards

Nice conversion... and I'm always happy to see people experiment... but I think you have a bad set of bearings.

Congrats on your conversion, But your (COOL DOWN) mode need to pulse you starting motor to prevent burn out.

Here's an idea, why don't you keep your comments to yourself unless you have something constructive to add?

Yeah, I was wondering why it was doing that.

Salvatore, can you program it to pulse the cool-down?... it's better for the battery too.

Congrats to you of the first kero start JJ. [8D]

Hi guys,
the rough noise, metallic, I don't think it due to ball bearings but to the spring preload particularly high in this turbine, 4-5 kg. (9-11 Lb.).
Unfortunately in this last version of the ECU ProJet (X-Power) the cooling is continuous and not to impulses, I don't know in the preceding versions because this is my first ProJet...

Thought it was a projet thing regarding the continuous running in cooling mode, there were other ECU's in the past that used to do that.

Your turbine does seem to stop very quick when free wheeling, it sounds a bit like the starter is too close to the spinner nut, or bendix sticking on problem I have seen with the JJ1400 regarding starter alignment.

Why? Its just an electric motor, why would being on for 25 to 40 seconds be a bad thing? The BMT turbines didn't pulse during their cool down and it was never an issue.

I think Jetcat are now running the motor continous for cool down. I know they do on the P20 and I think the newer turbines do this also

I dont think it really makes a difference we are just used to pulse cooling, if all turbines used continuous running and then one started to use the pulse method everyone would say why is it stopping & starting
