The ones someone posted earlier might be an option, cross between a z drive and direct drive. They also do some scale looking struts but not sure if they have em in gas size.

Just a word to the wise concerning the RCMK drives, theyre unlikeley to handle the power of an inline has anyone actually used them ?,the guy who aquired the AMG apache hull from Adriano that i built removed them as he felt they were too delicate even for running two from one inline through a gearbox. If you want reliability id go with stingers and a central rudder, not as scale but less chance of failures, the more i read of this build the more im convinced its going to be a very expensive disapointment. You may think im been negative but id rather be honest instead of feeding you bs like some will (are).
Mart

Right on Mart .......... I have had a set in my hands and I would not use them on a twin ... good quality just look fragile in some areas.

These from Werner are quite a bit better

Neither the RCMK or WD are sold in USA that I have seen .. WD link takes u to their site - prices are cheaper than shown as they include Euro VAT tax - we (US and Canada) do not pay VAT tax so around 20% less.

Werner is good guy to deal with and Hendrix (on here) works with Werner for any English translation issues.  Both are great guys.  The WD is proven in some BIG boats

WD (Werner) stuff can be ordered direct and takes about 10 days to get here

Oh
The ONLY way I know of guys getting those drives from RCMK are from Mr. Park direct - I do not or have not seen them on any site.  Pair I seen were when I was overseas this year.

compared to the build the little hassle of getting werner to get them here will be easy, those drives look great and should be worth the wait.we just ordered the gear box i will post as soon as i get them and you will have an idea of time fram, 10 days sounds pretty good,

IMHO you are headed for big trouble with any steerable drive. S520's under best conditions stress 1/4" driveline parts well past their limits. The only way to keep the cable in one piece is to keep the cable under control. Running a 1/4" cable in a 5/16 tube will NOT work. The cable will whip around and blow out everything between the engine and prop. Any drive that has unsupported area of the cable and bends the cable to steer will have a very short life behind a 520. Standard stinger drives with a seperat rudder are the only way to go.

Keep in mind that all of the available drive hardware was designed with a 260 Zenoah in mind. S520's at ten hp. more than double the power of a 260, a modded S600..more than quadruple the power.

WD drives were NOT designed for just a single Zen - even boat in video is no Zen ...

we did go thru a lot of cables in the beginning, the 520 will exploit all weaknesses in a drive, we have even sheared the dogs off of stainless steal drive dogs, thats pretty bad when the drive dog is the weak link and still breaks,

just looked they are not steerable drives, they are 2 fixed drives with one rudder in the center, but his post indicate that he is doing fine with it, last post they burned up a thrust washer, big deal its a nice boat, im sure glad there are some willing to take risk, thats why we have some of the great things we take for granted,so your build will come down to how good is your universal joint, or a hopped up cvd type drive,i dont know that my plan would include a cable. but i would not call it a day either.

what is JBD? I keep hearing about it but I have never been on that site before. Im starting to gather funds for either this boat build or eventually a built shortblock for my Mustang....I dunno which one I want more right now lol I like the simplicity of the stinger type drivesbut they just look so out of place IMHO. I was thinking about the shaft durability too...what about a 1/4" piece of steel square stock? Provided I set it up with no arc in the shaft of course...

As far a drives for a home built, W/ two doubles small dia pipe would fair better in a shaft housing IMHO
