Default Thunder Quake vs Tmaxx

I have a new thunder Quake.....By any stretch of the imagination, IT IS A HORSE!
I read t28's thoughts on a Thunder tigre....I almost ordered on until I read the reviews on the problems.....
I call my LHS and they had a T-Maxx with the freq I wanted.............I am impressed with the electric start, and the warranty.
I watched as one waxed me this weekend. Of course I am pushing almost 13 pounds with a 1/8 scale......Don't misunderstand me...The quake is one bad machine....The little Maxx looked a lot more fun for my money...I now have both.
Good luck guys,

Default t-maxx

I got a new t-maxx to play with.....I am breaking it in now....5 or 6 tanks without running it full out....It seems the transmission wants to jump while at idle.....What goes here?
Is my idle too high?
They said to wait until break-in to adjust idle.....(to possibly slow it down).....Am I doing the right thing by not touching anything (except high speed) until break-in??
\My thinder Quake was ready in 5 tanks...some say more for this little puppy...Any comments???
Thanks,

it jumps because either it is idling too high, or you can adjust the enguagement point of the tranny a little higher to combat that.
Just had my novarossi Tmaxx out in the snow!! its too deep though,

Default TRAXXas

John V,
I am having a hard time keeping the leads on my starter....When one comes off it dies....I have crimped it TIGHT...they still vib off.
Any good tips on this...
Also John, My Thunder Quake is doing real nice now that it is broken in.....This is a good truck...I do not like the recoil srarter...the T-Maxx is really cool.
What is your opinion on the engine exchange program of t-maxxas.....?
Thanks

John, T-maxxas has a deal you send your engine in and they replace it...you pay 1/2 price....Is that a deal?????
MY wires are comming off my starter....They are the "tab"slip on..........I don't want to solder.....any suggestions???

Oh, I get it, I never did that deal, I just sent mine it and warrentee replaced it for nothing.

On the wires, maybe bend the tab a little on the end to stay on? Mine never came off

Default Break-in and tunning video

I fly planes but was completely in the dark about running a surface vehicle untill I bought "R/C Basics Nitro" at my LHS.
Goes through the very critical break-in procedure and fine tunning. They use a T-Maxx as the subject car and also show you upgrades. www.modelsport.com

Whats this I hear about a new Thunder Quake with a .60 engine in it???
