what is the difference between 20 poles and 28 poles?

One has 20 magnets on the inside cercumference of the bell an the other has 28. As long as the motor delivers it doesn't make much difference although I suppose the 28 pole motor might deliver power "more smoothly".

I hear that the number of pole is in direct proportion to torque and is in inverse proportion to rpm.

28 poles mor power, less rpm?

I am not sure. But I think the purpose of 20 poles is to approach to YS 170. So the recommended prop is APC 20 X 10.5. It means higher rpm than 28 poles. Both will have equivalent power.
