Default help modeling a boat from scratch~

I would like to model my 1:1 East Cape Skiff Lostmen in 1:10 scale. I am an above average modeler, but have not messed with too many boats. I have built several kits (air boats) but never a scratch build. it is an 18 foot flats boat, slightly dropped nose, poling platform, totaly flat deck small cockpit, and a side consolle. I have a 60hp Etec on it. Is there any options for scale working outboards?

any help would be appreciated. How do I start the build process?

You're already there. But you have to learn to help yourself to some extent. The first three things to do when starting a new project is research, research, research! Here Google is your friend. From a previous post of yours: "scale working outboards"; putting that into Google and I found these on the first page of search results alone.

I'm sure there are more out there.

From your first post I take it you're trying to scratch build a model of an existing boat that you already have. This will be relatively easy you can measure the real thing for dimensions, where the waterline should be and so on. Make a crude sketch of your boat and start measuring.

But first do a search here on "scratch built". Should turn up a bunch of different threads on the subject. Read a few and you'll get quite an education.

Once you have a better idea of what you want and can ask more specific questions I think that you'll find more members willing to answer.

Always follow the most important rule in model boating. Have fun!

The boat I want to build is in the picture above. I have seen all of the outboards you have posted thanks!

I am far more concerned with the actual building of the hull than the outboard. I can make a model outboard from foam and balsa.
