The Old Poop is still alive.
I can't thank everyone enough for your prayers and thoughts. After getting hit by the train the first time was bad but having it back over me to see if I was OK hurt like heck.
As the story goes I was out in my shop doing the final touches on a review ARF for RCU. I decided to walk down the street to take the last of the assembling photos then come in and hit the puter to do the final text of the review. On my way ut of the shop the attack hit me. I didn't recognize it for what it was and got the final shots then walked back and put the plane away. It took a few minutes before I phoned 911. As an old fire fighter and first responder the real hart attack is nothing like I was taught?? Go figure. I never bothered to wake up my wife so when she got up to yell at me about the volume of the TV she discovered 6 huge good looking young men with me on the floor getting electrocuted. V-Fib twice here and once in the van on the way to the hospital.
A week after that I was doing fine and came home at about 9:30PM. Went to bed and woke up at 2AM, got up for some TV and had another attack at 2:30. I was home alone and wasted no time at all dialing 911. Another week in the hospital and out yesterday!
Other then being really weak and tire very quickly I feel very good. I figurer another couple weeks before I finish the review but I will get it done, it's sort of like kit build, if I walk away from it I will never get it finished. I may give it to a friend to do the maiden and flight review for me, I know it's a great plane to fly, I have flown a few others belonging to friends.
Until then all I can think is the great powers of the building board were pissed about me having an ARF and showed me there wrath!! This may be my only ARF?? I don't want to test my theory about that.
Thanks a big bunch to a great group of guys. If I get a lap top I may start lurking on RCU again real soon.
Gene

RE: The Old Poop is still alive.
Glad your doing well Gray!
I was just thinking today about how many people croak on a maiden flight. Other than "quality time" with the wife, maiden flights still make my heart race like nothing else.

Wow! Good thing for your training! I'm sure it was terrifying for your wife to walk out to that! Take it easy and rest.
Oh.. I ordered the wood for the Fokker D7

So glad you choose this Fokker for your first try. Only thing you should do is go to Harbor freight and buy one of the BIG CHEAP vises for bending wire. It's also a tool you will use forever and not just modeling.

It's great to hear you're doing better Gene! Just remember...you aren't allowed to go anywhere until you have passed ALL of your knowledge on to the younger generation!!! P.S. You can't be sniffing CA like the old Ambroid glues...it will cause heart attacks!

I am glad to see you back Gene.
It is not my place, but I want to see you around for a while, make sure you follow the Dr's advice and try to learn. I know as a man, we tend to not listen to other people, but... I lost my mother-in-laws husband a couple of months after his first to a second heart attack , he was cutting branches above his head. So try to listen to people that may be smarter then you
Take care
