A DLE-20 based twin? I do a lot of CNC stuff for my business. I make a SolidWorks model and send it to a CNC shop and nice parts show up. Your work with non CNC tools is just amazing to me.

RE: Twin 60 CC
*L* Well honest we was making parts long time before a NC or CNC was even heard of, they had to come from somewhere *L*
What amazes me is the Machine work that went into the ocean liners of the early 1900's like the Titanic and others its mind boggleing how they did that stuff with a line shaft type machine's. There was some very clever men back in the day.

RE: Twin 60 CC
I hope you ordered a 23x10 and a 24x8 I think you'll be able to swing the 24..
That sbach of yours is about to become one heavily envied 30%er.
I'll second the Vote on the 120 quad, I know for a fact after seeing the smoothness of joes 222
that a 120cc quad would be one Sick piece of machinery, and it would fit in any 33-35% airframe
width wise any way, Length is an easy one to change.
Can't wait to see your clips of it.
I think you should create a thread on here, on FG and on the ProBro site To See how many PreOrder hits you get It might justify adding a cnc to your shop!!

I have a edge 540 88 inch span I may use for the test bed for now.
*L* As far as making engine's, about the time a man got set up to do so, the chinese would come out with one at a much less price and bankrupt a person. Dosen't matter if it works or not as long as it's cheap cheap cheap.
Just look back over the last 10 yrs or so and see how many folks have gone by the way side that made engines.

RE: Twin 60 CC
Hi Guys I finally got some footage today as we ran several different size props and pitches. I didn't bother with the Vess 22-C because I knew what it would do already.
But went from there to a 23x8,24x8 I think a 24x10 and a 25x10. My friend is doing the editing on the video and as soon as it's done I will post a link to it for all to see.
All of my props didn't come in so I didn't have a 23x10 on hand and neither did my friend. I hope to have the link up by tomorrow so you can see what the end results are.
I am not to dissapointed but You can judge for yourselfs after you see the clip. We also used a rcxel tach to maybe get more acruate readings than a hand held one.
Richard.

his 24x8 was missing from his order which was to bad because I think it'll be a good one to run on here.
And the last one was a - Skorepa 25x10

RE: Twin 60 CC
Many Thanks go out to Jeremey for taking some killer pics, making the video and Joe for helping me out with an assortment of props, since all of mine didn't hit here.
Myself after seeing what the engine would trun a 22 inch prop I was some what dissapointed in the 23x8 Xoar. I was really hoping to see around 7 K with that prop and maybe it will with the right prop.
These sort of test don't do alot for me but they do give a person some idea of whats a good size of prop to try to start off with. I think either a 23x10 or 24x8 is what I will go with. And not a laminated type prop either.
So now it's just pick a plane and wait untill the weather breaks enough to go fly it, that will be the real test in my book.
BTW the reason the engine was so hard to start was all my fault,I had the choke on and flooded it really good !!

RE: Twin 60 CC
I'm new to gas engines, but what would be wrong with the 25x10? At that RPM it's putting out 37 lbs of static thrust...it's quiet...is there a reason you couldn't run that? Is spool up too slow?
Just trying to learn...

RE: Twin 60 CC
Richard the Xoar laminated 23x8 is a very high load prop. My old MT57 would only turn it 6300 on the ground. In the air it unloads an pulls like a freight train, do not be fooled by the lower rpm as this prop is a real performer in the air. Power wise I would put it about the same as my DA 60. I am guessing a Mejzlik 23x10 will put you in the low 7's and a 24" in the high 6's. Very impressive results. Don't let that Xoar fool you as it really grabs the air.

RE: Twin 60 CC
I have used the xoar laminated props on my DLE-30 and have had good luck with them, and you are correct they do grab some air and seem to have good braking action. I'm not to going to toss it by any means and I am sure that it will get it's chance in the air as well as a few others.
But that is good info to know at lest I know it is somewhere in the ball park with an upper end engine.

Hi the spool up was not as slow as one would think, but it did put quite a load on the engine and right now with it not being fully broken in I am worried about creating a heat issue as much as anything. It does pull like a mule, but that is alot of wood for any 60 CC engine to be pulling.
There are several things I can do to get more out of the engine, but I don't want a raceing engine, just something that is dependable, easy starting with decent power and so far I have come close to my goal. Untill I put some gas thru it I won't know just how well it will hold up, but at the moment I see no issues.
Thank you guys for all your comments, they don't fall on deaf ears believe me.
