I had to do a wingtip repair from shipping too, and I know another guy who had the same problem with his. Seems the box isn't adequate to protect the plane.

Thanks for the pics, now I can see what I have to do.

Good idea installing the choke lever toward the back.

LOL, I had to repair the same section of the wingtip. I used a little light weight cloth and resin to strengthen the broken wood, and used red econocote to cover it since that's what I had on hand. Looks exactly like yours.

Too bad the color wasn't quite right, but didn't want to wait 2 weeks for red monocote to come in the mail.

The weather finally got warm here and was able to go into the garage and finish the 60, fired up the dle 20 today opened the needle valves and started the plane rich. Wow grate response for a new motor running rich, can’t wait for the weekend to try to fly it.

Can the UCD 60 really take a DLE20? I have a Phoenix version of that- Topstar 60 and I flew it last year with a FS91SII. I really worry regarding the vibrations, flutter and about damaging the airframe on every landing. Plus this airplane really doesnt want to land even with the FS91 so I am not sure what the DLE20 will do to it. Pic is attached

will work fine ,a perfect fit , a bit over powered , but need to do throttle management not to go to fast, motor started with a few flips and reliable idle with my new not broken in engine yet . With my u can do 46 and gms 61 always glow plug problems with not so good nitro fuel in Croatia , gas is simpler and easer and a hell of a lot cheaper here.

elvir, make a note that this is the UCD 60 (at a minimum). You cant put the DLE20 ona UCD 46. Just informing just in case you were thinking that way

I have a 46 and now a 60 with a dle 20,but for the 46 I will convert the gms 61 to gas it is more reliable I found a post how to make a hall sensor ring so it is a simple conversion , just need to modify the carb at low idle to make a good transition from low idle to full gas.

How does the landing handle the dle 20?
I'm building one now,but with a saito 125 four stroke.

Well i maiden today , but the second flight was not so good coming for a landing i did not judge the field to good and landed a little short , a farmer shorteng one side our feild about 45 feet and i hit mound in the ground and ripped off the landing gear .i am the third person to do that after our field was shortened , i found that the triangle blocks were not glued in square above the landing gear, but now i will glass epoxy then in so now more failures , but for the most part it flew grate , I bit on not consecrating will cost a few hours of repair.

I started to work on the plane today after cooling down a few days . I know i should have reinforced the landing gear , but I did not know how bad it was. until I started to put it back tougher today , the triangle stock was not even close to being square there was a gap about 2 mm on one side so no support at all . and the ply with the two hole where the wing dowels go into did not have much glue at all to hold it to the side fuselage where you could see where glue was missing from the inside. so the side walls spread apart and then the hard wood with the landing gear just came out. so for everyone else glue the landing gear block from the inside.
