Weed Wacker Servo
What type of servos are people using with weed wacker engines ?
I'm goofing around with a Ryobi/Homelite 30cc leaf blower engine
with an electric start. The throttle return spring sure is a stiff one.

I too have a homelite 30cc sitting here, but no real intention of putting it on an airboat.

The servo that we uses is a HItec HS-645MG about $32.00.
Torque: 106.93 oz-in at 4.8V 133.31 oz-in at 6.0V
This is a good servo for the rudders to and there is a waterproof one now.

I should have rephrased what I said before, I would use a standard sized high-torque servo for the throttle but 1/4 scale for the rudders if using air rudders. Wet rudders could probably get away with a standard size high-torque servo like the 645MG.

I have used the ΒΌ scale servos on our !/4 scale Airboats for years and they work good but they have been overkill on some of the Airboats and the 645 has been a good way to go.
If you have the room the Hobbico CS- 80 works good for the rudders.

RE: Weed Wacker Servo
you only need a standard servo for throttle even if the return spring is left on (it should be left on)
I've been using a standard size high torque on my gas airboat, I think it's in the 120 or so ozin, need to get that thing back on the water...
