RE: Taifun needle
This is the 1.5cc Hurrikan diesel-the Mk1 version.Taifun spares are virtually non existent-after all the engines haven't been manufactured for over 40 years. The original needles are prone to bending-and then breaking when straightened. If its the original spraybar, it will have an internal 2mm metric thread. You could make your own needle from (a) a 2mm machine screw (you would have to add an extension wire and attach using a small brass tube sleeve. b) you could do the same from a piece of 2mm threaded rod-the type used for RC pushrod attachments. As you're in the Czech republic, you should be able to get these easily from MP Jet. I'll check one of mine out and measure it up.
If you simple want to run the engine-I can recommend an OS Max 10 FSR needle valve assembly-this is what I have fitted in both of my Hurrikans, and it works well. You will need to use a few packing washers to centralise it in the spraybar housing.

RE: Taifun needle
Thank you for your feedback, about neddles from OS I know, I read posts here. I tried, if anyone should hear the original needle. The idea with MP JET is great, I have the JET engine 0.6ccm MP Classic. I'll try to write them. Once again thank you "ffkiwi

RE: Taifun needle
The MP Jet Classic 0.6 needle will probably fit-but will look a bit different than the original. Your call really-do you want absolute authenticity? or do you simply want to be able to run the engine?

RE: Taifun needle
Hi,
I test my MP Jet Classic needle to my Taifun Hobby and it fit quite well - only knurled stopper needed.
Original Taifun needle nr. 1401 is 48 mm long (see the picture) and there was also longer version 75mm nr. 1402.
Should be relatively easy to rebuilt new needle from 2 mm pushrod as ffkiwi suggest.

RE: Taifun needle
Lupen, measuring off one of my original Taifun 'wire' needles, I have the following dimensions:
length-needle tip to outside of 90 degree bend: 46.33mm
length of tapered portion: 7.5mm
OD at large end of needle taper: 1.4mm
length of threaded portion (including the part covered by the brass knurled ratchet unit): 13.5mm
OD of needle: 2mm nominal (1.96mm actual)
OD threaded portion: 1.91mm (still 2mm nominal thread)
OD of brass ratchet: 7.2mm
thickness of brass ratchet: 2.92mm
knurl: straight, ~1mm pitch
length of bent over end of needle: 8mm
There you are-everything you need to produce a replica..................or you can just get an MP Jet Classic 0.6 needle and save yourself a lot off effort!

RE: Taifun needle
Looks like you're off to an excellent start then Lupen-put a 90 degree bend in at 46mm from the sharp end, cut it off to the 8mm length and you're done! I can't advise you on how to blacken the wire-but I'm sure someone on the forum can.........

RE: Taifun needle
But that will also harden it and make it brittle-possibly not what you want in a thin needle valve stem. There are other 'chemical' methods of blackening steel, but I'm not sure on the details.
