If you want a high end 1/10 scale digger (super nice cars there by the way), sure guys with the know-how like you can make that $500 really zing. But what about the fun factor of the Traxxas for everyone below your level? In 1/8 scale no less.
Mr. Jenkins isn't stupid and I think they have done plenty of market research and they will make out just fine with this car. Sure it is a narrower demographic than the normal RC stuff Traxxas produces, but this should be a real hit.

Thats what i thought, we are talking about maybe a stock class or somewhere to start in RC drag racing, you show a full blown MOD dragster ,and for About $400 for the chassis,...then for a powerful brushless system would be at least $250...then for a radio another $200..so not in the same ballpark.
Here is a nice launch shot from a video from Rc car action.

RE: Has anyone seen this Traxxas Yet
I,m just saying 500 dollars is alot to spend to see if your going to like something. So why not get something that will compete with the rest right from the start . Hey the car is a real eye catcher and is fine to play with in the street with your buddies. And to put something together that can turn extremely fast times is really not that expensive no where near $850 like posted.

Oh I believe anything can be fast, but to makea drag car that competitive,at the tracks, team walburn or litespeed. or any other brand of drag chassis is in the $400 range,ok maybe RJ speed isnt. but to go up against guys a local drag tracks, chassis are always around $350-$400..ok a lipo battery for drag racing is going to be at least $100,radio system $200..brushless system at least $200.thats all am saying..but this car might be a RTR. but this car has so much potenional.some one will put a bigger lipo battery and a bigger brushless motor and have one going close to 100mph,and dont have to spend a $1000..my two cents guys.

Nice vehicle. I've got some on back order for a customer right now. I sell.them $455 paid/shipped con us. I think this will be a real hot seller. This was a good move by traxxas. Maybe ae and hpi will follow.
