Default Pershing turret on a Sherman.....no kidding!

I have never seen this before! I wonder how the proving ground testing would have worked out? But heck, this would still make an interesting conversion.

Just buy a Tamiya Sherman and a Pershing and switch turrets............then you could also have a Pershing with a Sherman turret.

Uhhhhh......just forget that last idea..........

Hey Rex, I’ve seen this before and yes it would make for a great conversion to do. God knows all us tankers are looking for something different to build. A while back I came across a Tiger 1 turret on top of a KV-1 Lower hull. It looked really cool and something different. Just cants seem to find that B/W picture again?

Actually that was probably the PIv gun on the KV-1. Someone built that in 1/16 as well.really nice conversion.

The sag in the links of the tracks on that tank look like they are about 6 links too long..........Is that normal? That seems like a good way to throw a track.

Thanks for the photo’s Yellowshaker. I love the old black and white photos. It could have been a PIv gun on the KV-1 I seen, Thanks!

Rex, if you look at the B/W photo very closely. Look at the rear sprocket, you will notice that the track is not connected and just hanging on the sprocket. That’s why there’s so much slack in the tracks shown in the picture.

Had not seen that before(news to me). Have an extra Sherman chassis for the conversionwhen time permits and I tire of 1/8 scale.Better get PCommands approval first.

Basically it looks more like a Pershing turret on a Sherman tank, than anything the IDF made.

I do know that they did try to fit it on one chassis to test the feasibility of getting the 90 mm in a Sherman.

As soon as Mr.Tamiya sees this... guess what will be their cheap-to-develop next rc tank?

Of course!
The old M4 ( they have a lot of injected parts for sure)
The Pershing turret ( also a lot of done parts surplus)
NO modifications for the rotating motor so you will have to deal with all the matter.
The same electrics
New boxing and instructions copy/paste of the other ones.

And..... US$800 to get the monster, you can do for 550

LOL LOL LOL

I'm around modelling since 50 years now, seriously the last 35, and still don't understand these people.
I have seen modelers asking for RC cars for being reissued during years and the vintage came a good business then one day the reissues began to be done.... but 10 years later when the crisis shock hard our wallets.
Although , all us say wouldn't buy other Tamiya because is expensive, just if they would offer a E8 or A1, then all us will run to get the box, although have to sell the dog for hotdogs.. LOL LOL, or better the wife.

I understand the Germans, but the Kvs..... how many build you saw comparing with others.

I hope not. It was just a test vehicle and never saw action nor production.

It looks neat and a possible project (if you ran out of things to do) but I think there are WAY too many to "do" than this. It would still be rated as a medium in IR battling. And look cool too.

i would be a nice addition to any allied collection of rc tanks ... the panther II wasn't producted too so why not build it into 1/16 it brings diversion onto the battlefield ... if you look to the M36 the turret has a way to look as pershing one when overlook rapidly, same the mantlet and the barrel are almost identical ... why not ... if you like him

no E75's and E100's were spôtted on the battlefield too ...

If Tamiya did offer it, Lets hope they add the M51 Electronics.(dmd8/mFU7) Cool recoil, inertia, I plan to add these to all my M4/M4A1 hulls as finances permit!

Do I see a new project in the horizon for Mr. edoubleaz? What sounds do the 'newer' electronics have?

M51 Electronics still have the Radial Wright 975 sound. Same sound file! I already put one set in my firefly and next will be "In the Mood" M4A1(w)76.

Well, that's neat then. I always wanted my 105MM M4 to have recoil.

A guy from H*E*A*T had made this version with the Tamiya kits, it was pretty cool, and he fought pretty good with it too. I wish i could remember his name!

Are you sure? I have both of them and sound different for me, I'm surprised as I know you are an expert, I will see if I can record them.
