Default Futaba12Z

Hello All,

I need advice on how to set a condition where the ailerons both droop or raise a small amount. My setup has two chanels for aileron operation and no other mixes or condition associated with them.

Thanks for any help deciphering the 12Z little wonder.

Regards,

Paul

First, you need have the system set so that you have flaperons. Just set a channel to CAMBER. VC1 is usually the default for this. Set the control to the one you want to control the flaps.

Go into the Model Menu and create a new condition. Set it to a switch to turn that condition on and off.

Now go into the Camber Mix. Turn it on. Select the condition that has the flaps moved to the first position. Set the Camber Mix to SNGL. Go into the Aileron section and set the offset to give you the desired amount of flap deflection. When you move the switch you use to select the condition, you should see the offset change from 0% to the percentage you set in that condition.

If you want another flap setting on the same switch, create another condition, and put it to turn on when the switch is in another position. So you have a 3-position switch with the first position having no conditions turned on, the next position turning on your second condition, and the third position turning on the third condition.

Remember, when you have no conditions set, you really have ONE condition set, Cond1. If you add a new condition, you'll add Cond2, ant then Cond3, and so on.

Another way is to use the trim mix. You can set the droop or "up" (reflex) in there and also some elevator compensation if needed. If you don't want to use conditions (and no idea why not since they are amazingly powerful) you can use Trim mix 1 for the droop and trim mix 2 for the reflex. Have them off when the switch is centered, the droop mix on when the switch is down and the reflex when the switch is up. This is how I setup the camber for launch, cruise, zoom, thermal, and speed (reflex) on my gliders. I use conditions for each and have the switch that turns on the mix also turn on the condition. I need a variety of different things in each condition which is why I use them. But if all you want is to simply droop and reflex the ailerons I'd use the trim mixes to do it.
