Tamiya #5455040 for the one that goes on the shaft (it has to be ground down like 1mm or it will cause binding just hold it next to the stock tt01e and you will see where)

compared to the e10 how well will the tt-01 handle brushless im looking at getting one and using a spare mmp esc and a tacon 4420kv on 2s

with the $15 or so in metal diff gears I could run a 4000kv HW BL setup on 2S no issues (never tried with the stock diff)
I had an EB10(buggy form of the e10) that I totaled the diffs in under 3 mins, and cracked a chassis almost in half with the same BL setup on pavement... There were no aftermarket parts to fix that issue, and HPI told me pretty much the e10, and eb10 were never meant to be modified.

i put a castle sv2 esc and 4600kv in my stock tt-01 and it holds up fine. the only drivetrain upgrade i have is aluminum center shaft and ball bearings. i use a 2 cell lipo with it. the only problem i would say i have is that the rear diff deff unloads on one side when turning hard (doughnut style). but i bet that with a thicker grease or a spool it would be great.

thats a sweet merc body but you gotta run it ..its no fun if you dont i run mine with the exception of the wheels i change back to the stock bbs style im trying to get it to match or beat the speeds my truck does which i think is around 55-60mph i think i might be there just havent really opened it up yet...need to glue the tires lol was no need to glue with stock motor but now i need to

I'm getting ready to build my TT-01 kit and have a question about the paper motor gasket. I will be using the 3racing aluminum motor mount and a 9T ezrun motor. Does anybody use the paper gasket with this or any other application?

Can anyone tell me what difference there is between these, or which one would be better to get? I'm thinking the one with Tamiya part # 58450 as that would have been a later released kit... ?

If I don't end up getting a CR before they're all gone I'm getting a Datsun TT-01ED kit and one of these with another body ... do any of the HPI bodies have LED light buckets? Or should I look at mainly Tamiya bodies for that... For the ED kit I will likely get an alum. prop. shaft and joints, as well as a motor mount and possibly other bits, any essentials I'm forgetting... I'm thinking of leaving the steering for later..I'd like to know more about the car's specific setup first...

Also, would a JR ST126 MG servo do the trick, or could anyone recommend a good servo in the less than $50 range? Might get a Traxxas 125 oz. in. waterproof one, will go good with other blue bit's i'll add along the way...

These are the things that are on the TT01ER, which are not on the regular TT01E, but it's been discontinued by Tamiya.

I just picked up a TT-01 today, used. Seems to be in good shape. The original Raybec Honda body is trashed. Seems quite brittle. Anyways, I wanted to get the HPI 200 mm Cuda body for it. Now I am not sure if I am looking at this right but if I get a set of 6 mm offset wheels to put on the TT-01 would that effectively make it a 202 mm chassis? I want to make sure the wheels can fill the body. There aren't any classic bodies out there in 190 mm. I want to make sure the proportions are good. Any thoughts on cool bodies that can fit this car?

If you are talking classic like the VTA bodies.. the bodies are for a 190mm car.. with the wide rims from HPI that make the car 200mm at the rear and 190mm at the front..

according to my experience, you'll need something wider in the back. like 9mm.....I think. No garuntees though

Yeah, I'd agree with the above post. Sounds more like gear/diffs issue. If your certain its the motor, than its probably a bad bearing.

Does the motor work? Does it get hot?

what do you mean? My 7500kv Xcelorin motor (with mamba max ESC) makes almost no sound when moved

with the nice weather out i took out my tt-01 that i put a cc sV2 and cc 4600Kv last year. first battery in it and i hit a small bump in the parking lot which threw me into the air and a few flips later i broke the rear shock tower, first order to tower of the season is sooner then i had expected lol

Who said that the Tamiya shells were brittle??? They might be a little thin is some spots or I am just a real bad driver, HA! Running a 2s lipo, Reedy motor, bearings, drift tires, adjustable upper arms. For the money, these are a hoot!
