Default YS 160/170 to gasser?

Does anyone have any experience of converting a YS from glo to gas? Given the price of decent 20/20 or 30 rated fuels in the UK, plus a definite move across to electric by a lot of the F3a guys which has resulted an fair amount of 160's and 170's coming onto the 2nd hand market, it would seem that converting one to gas/petrol might be worth looking into.........................? Fuel induction system too complicated a task?

Any thoughts?

You might want to post this question in the general engines forum. I know of only one person who tried such a conversion and it didn't work very well, in other words they totaled a good engine.

You would be better off converting it to spark and still run nitro fuel, fuel usage is drasticlally reduced, it's a simple process.

If you convert to CDI you can run with no nitro on the 170, gas is not compatible with the O rings and pump parts, so no gas on a YS.
