Default Ferox FX 4WD

Been after one of these for a while now, finally was able to get my hands one direct from Germany. Car has only been in four races, original owner had too many other hobby's to keep up so he put her up for sale. Installing a OBR 27.2 Long Rod and 3 Savox servo's for breaking\throttle and steering. So far the car reminds me of a 4wd Elcon, very easy to work on and extremely smooth suspension setup, as well as having a super smooth drive line.. Looking fwd to getting this on the track..

So far I've found the car very easy to work on and have replaced the gas tank and installed FFRC fuel fittings..

Very nice. Are you going to do a complete teardown and build? I for one would like to see that.

Elcon does not have a 4WD in their program, only 2WD
Only elcon part on this car are the rubber grommets on the drive shafts.

Hey Onno,

I mean the build quality - makes me think that if there were a 4wd Elcon it would share some ideas. I've owned 2 elcons MMX and Cleon, I know your line up pretty well.

Well first I'm going to run it as is, then I'll be doing a tear down and installing some custom parts from our friends down under.. Told ya I was gonna snag one of these sooner or later..

I do not believe we would use ideas from the ferox if we were to built a 4WD. I would choose a complete different route.
Cheers,
o.

Gotcha, but I think my statement got lost in translation or I wasn't being clear enough... Ultimately, I'm just saying both cars are similar in their light weight considering their all alloy, neither have a roll cage and everything is geared for quick replacement for race conditions. Since elcon has been so innovative with some of their designs I figure if you guys ever do come out with something that is 4wd that it would be just as sophisticated and different as your 2wd line up.. That's all I was trying to say..

It's a shame that these cars aren't popular in the UK, I don't know if it's that Ferox don't have any interest in the UK market or they can't find a dealer, the 4wd buggy market has room for another manufacturer - especially in the racing scene. There is also model concept from france who make a nice looking car.

At the moment the racing scene is dominated by (numers of cars racing) Hoerman and Elcon followed by Contrast and FG in the 2wd class, in the 4wd class we have the FTX punisher(Nutec thunderbolt 2) and MCD.
