I believe it gives the G62 a smoother idle, but I don't have any direct experience for comparison.

Hi W8YE

USE MS360 cylinder and make it 35mm stroke is OK, even use MS440 cylinder with 50mm bore and still keep 35mm stroke . that's the idea . dont need same bore or stroke ,make update it little bit and no problem at all
The 50mm 440 Stihl P&C would give you 68.72cc (or 69cc like you said) on the G62 crankcase.

The MS440 cylinder will bolt on the G62 crankcase? I assume the wrist pin is the same size as well?

I figure all that is a long shot. I've never had all the parts on hand to check this out.

Everything will have to be measured and considered. Like the wrist pin diameter, The distance to piston top from wrist pin etc.

The bolt pattern at the cylinder base could very well be a problem as also the cylinder base skirt protruding into the crankcase.

can not use G62 crankcase to fit any Stihl cylinder , need re-design and build new crankcase to do this

Does that rule out re-working the cyl to fit a G62 crankcase?
